The "I did ---- today" thread..

OK, you ask, why does Somer think anyone would possibly care? Well, it's my first haircut in a year and my first at a barber since I married my wife (she cut my hair for 22 years). Drove into Waynesboro and went to this guy who actually knew what he was doing...took 30 minutes and we talked horses the entire time...he's a big fan! It's amazing the little things in life that you don't realize you are missing...at least every few weeks I'll have a real, live, in-person guy to talk the ponies with! I discovered two other things...I had a hell of a lot of hair, and now I'm almost completely white  :(

Haven't had mine cut since the Spa, but that was a "buzz cut" just before the Travers. Don't have much in front anymore and if I grow it long in the back...the "mullet" look just doesn't seem right with nothing up front. Mostly likely will get a "buzz cut" again when the weather gets "hot".

As an old hippie, I don't care if it grows past my butt but I'm trying to re-enter the workforce and this area "don't take much of a shine to those people"

Unfortunately, male pattern baldness runs in my family :(
Never really grew my hair long until my senior year in high school.
Wish I could get some back! :o

Somerfrost,
I haven't had mine cut since October. Now it's long, brown and full of waves.
Life is good.
Today, I started at the farm with the horses. Ciel Bonne (yearling filly) and Daring Day (yearling colt) raced each other...three times around the pasture.
They had so much fun. When they realized that I was standing at the gate and watching them, they both ran up so I could give them each a pet on their muzzles...both breathing hard from their romp. Then I took a mare that's new on the farm from her stall to a different pasture. Her name is Glittering Racket. i'm told she had earnings of over a million. She is gorgeous.
Then, I met up with a real estate developer for lunch. He recently purchased a 300+ ski resort (now closed). I am representing his interests in the renovation of condos (30 units) and the "hoops" that have to be dealt with so that subdivision can proceed. This should be good...a multi-million real estate undertaking.
On top of that, Big Daddy Ray is running in the 3rd on Sat, May 19 at Finger Lakes.
And the garden is popping out of the ground!!!
Man o' man! I'm so happy winter is over!
Finally, I'm going with Street Sense over Curlin in the Preakness.
So, there's the "news". Good racin' luck, and with the hair.
DTS

lol.....I work about 20 minutes from Waynesboro...or at least I've been told...I have only been north of exit 6A off of 81 one time and I've lived in the area for 4 years, so I don't know anything about Waynesboro, Chambersburg, etc....that one time was to play golf in Greencastle...might be the worst golf course I've ever played.....

On a serious note somer....what are you looking to do?

You'll be eating that sumbitch again about 3 this morning.....: )

I had seen 1 or 2 of these around Northern NJ. Now there is one right nearby. Every single time I've been there or driven by the place is empty or virtually empty. There has never been more than 2 tables being occupied.

I am not a huge Mexican/Tex-Mex fan, but I've been there. Mexican fast-food -- pretty straightforward, simple, etc.

Production of Natural Gas might be a problem.
I forsee a combustible combination of methane mixed with hydrogen sulfide. Methane is a colorless, odorless gas at room temperature but a wonderful fuel. The dash of Hydrogen sulfide should take care of what the methane lacks. Any family members should be promptly warned. Tape off the area you occupy ahead of time. If you wake up, and your eyelashes are curled back into your eyelids, air-raid sirens are suggested to alert innocent neighbors about what you have unleashed.
Repent and I will contact the appropriate authorities if you wish. It is possible you will fall under the terrorist category depending on the potency of your failure to control WMD's.
Godspeed.

I will take you off the list if the black bean's % mass in the so called Mexican food is below 40%. If you failed to weigh the contents ahead of time you have violated OSHA statutes. Repent will have to submit your name. If you see your picture in the Post Office, nod knowingly.

I didn't even know there was a golf course near Greencastle...lol! At my age, I'm looking for anything that will pay the rent. I'm soured on social work after what happened to me at my last job, really have spent my entire adult life helping people, at this point I just need to help myself (I prefer a place with walls and a roof to a cardboard box).

Believe it or not, I grew up going there, the old Waynesboro News Agency...was owned and operated by Mr Funk who lived across the alley from my folks. It has pool tables in the back now and has been modernized a little but still quaint, use to have an old popcorn popping machine inside the front door, great soda fountain. My father co-owned the drug store across the street (corner of Main and S. Potomac) called Blair's...long since gone. It had an old icecream and soda fountain, mooseheads on the walls...the whole Norman Rockwell bit. Loved Waynesboro as a kid!
