Yes they have although I can't remember any in the last 10 years or so.

Remember when they ran the BC Juvie and Juvie fillies (Li'l Dudes and Li'l Babes as a surfer friend of mine calls them) at Arlington at 9f because they weren't set up for 1 1/16 races? Vindication won that one, never heard from again. Juvie races should be one-turn, IMHO.

They used to run "about" 1 1/16 miles. They also didn't record internal fractions if I remember correctly.

This was one of Dave Felmans pet peeves and he was pushing for a 2nd finish line back in the 70's.

By the way Arlington with its opening day and Mother's Day crowds has to be destroying previous years attendence records. And Levy charging 5 bucks for a sliver of pizza and 5.25 for a beer a long with it have to be making a killing. One oddity I noticed was a can of pop at 2 bucks and a bottle of water at 3 bucks.

The idiots that passed up drinking fountains to wait in line for their waters are probably the ones complaining about 3 bucks for a gallon of gas and have no clue they're paying 12 bucks per gallon of water.
