Race 1 Churchill Downs (CD Stewards)

Did anyone see Race 1 today at Churchill Downs and how the horse ridden by Orlando Mojica nearly killed the jockey on Magical Court. And then the winner also came out and interfered with Magical Court. MC lost a three way photo by a nose and they left up the winner. Ridiculous.

If Mojica does not get a 30 day suspension than the Stewards should all be fired.

All I can say is the NY Stewards look brilliant compared to the KY Stewards.

30 days for a horse wanting to run to whatever he found in the grandstand? If anyone should be suspended it's the trainer for not putting blinkers on him.

I think the stewards got it right.. The main interference to Magical Court was done by Schuler Lane, not the winner. I agree with you that Mojica should be suspended though. He's lucky that Magical Court and Jesus Castanon didn't both take a tumble.

I dunno, I thought Mojica kept hitting him left-handed even after he was drifting.. I'll watch it again though.

You are probably right. Magical Court has become the cash burner for me this year. He finds trouble every race. I guess some horses find ways to lose.

Mojica though looked like he should be back at Hoosier Park. He had absolutely zero control over the horse. He is lucky he didn't kill somebody.

Yeah I think you're right. Just watched the replay and he was whipping him pretty good. He should've known when they hit the stretch that the horse was acting like a damn fool. Something definitely caught his eye in the grandstand.
