Pincay Scores Big in Courtoom

http://news.bloodhorse.com/viewstory...ce=enewsletter

Laffit Pincay Jr. hit it big against the ambulance company that cared for him after is career-ending spill.

I have read some on this case, and it has always sounded like he had a legit case. Guess he will be even happier next year after downing a few at the Eclipse Awards...

they didnt stabilize his head and permitted him to walk to a first aid tent. Jeez, that's pretty reckless. That's how people die.

Oh, I totally agree. This is all surprising because neck stabalization is the one thing that EMT's are taught to be totally anal about, and after a spill like Pincay had, one would think they would have been careful.

Amazing...

I was a licensed EMT back in college. And the first thing we learned about spinal or neck injuries is to stablize the body. I am not sure why the EMT's did not do this in this case.

Now the Physician Assistant is suppose to introduce him/herself as a PA. But a PA is quit capable of doing the same type of work as a DR (except for surgery). The problem I have in this particular case is that the PA on duty may not have been a PA that specialized in spinal/neck injuries. But he/she should have known to stabilize the patient and send him to the ER.

Bravo for Laffit. I sustained a similar injury, but only cracked 2 vertebrae. Believe me, it is truly painful.

Although it was over 25 years ago, I still wince when I think about that idiot PA twisting Laffit's neck. Arrrrgh!!!!!!

The P.A. Moved his head from side to side and told him he was not seriously injured? I bet Trampus Two that day and was at the track to watch the race. Pincay went down and didn't move for along time. I mean along long time.I find it hard to beleive that they didn't take him to the hospital.
