zanjero???

I've seen several on here talking about him. I have a question. He was galloping around the track this morning with his head buried into his neck. Does that signify anything? It looked odd to me, like he didn't like the rain and wet track, like he was trying to avoid it.

I personally like to see that... means he's 'on the bit.' (Maybe this is the hunter/jumper coming out in me?)

I always thought they called that "in a frame," but what do I know?

Can be called many things in the hunter/jumper world. "in a frame" is a nice dressage term too. But I didn't see him so I can't say wheter he was "on the bit"; "under the bit", "above the bit", etc...

Where is our board expert when we need her?

Hickory Hill Hoff 05-03-2007 09:53 AM

Can see him in the 3rd & 4th slots...remember Hard Spun likes an "off track" too!

I wish I could get Buck into a frame! :) When we start prepping for our "TRAINING" level dressage, he is going to get a neck stretcher put on! He is NOT going to like it. But he has to learn somehow. He was never taught to "frame" up so we are going to try it for a bit (like 5 min increments) with him having it on and me giving him the cues to "frame" up. Here's hoping he doesn't get so pissed that he lives up to his name.

I'd lunge him in draw reins for 15 minutes a pop...

Something about Hard Spun, I like. I can't put my finger on it, but I do like him. Lunch time is almost here. I will be looking at the PPs and will let you know what I come up with. I do my best reviewing of the PPs at lunchtime.

That may be next. We are going to start off slowly with him just at the walk.

I know he can frame up because when I am walking to him with treats he frames up beautifully and gives me little nickers. (MY FAVE THING BY THE WAY. I LIVE FOR THOSE NICKERS)

If this board is any indication, Hard Spun is going to go off at like 5-1 tomorrow.

I didn't ask for baseball tips! :D You could always PM me. Just wondering what your thoughts on him were. I had this horse in my top five, but if you are telling me he has no shot, I would kinda like to know why. I am not trying to argue. I agree with you on Curlin having no shot.

I like him to fill out the bottom of exotics, though.
