I want Bridgmohan on Zanjero... wonder if he'll get the mount?

Bobby Fischer 04-26-2007 11:25 AM

Leparoux gets a mount and possible future mounts for a horse that can run over synthetic surface.

That's the first time I've ever heard someone desire the services of Shaun Bridgmohan.

Coupled with the big news about who's riding Sedgefield this thread is quickly turning into a must read.

Guidry on Zanjero would be a good fit. I don't know if Dirty Steve and him hook up regularly though.

blackthroatedwind 04-26-2007 11:47 AM

The only thing that could help Zanjero is someone with a jet pack.

slotdirt 04-26-2007 11:48 AM

The Rocketeer?

cakes44 04-26-2007 11:53 AM

Zanjero does have a bad case of the slows, but he could easily clunk up for 3rd or 4th with a great trip. There's almost always one "turd in the punchbowl" of the Derby trifecta.

What the hell is Sedgefield doing in the Derby to start with??? Derby fever strikes agian. Boy the 4th on the turf, last out must have really been something!

They could get Roberto Gonzalez from Northern California. He's know as "the Rocket."

He had a couple of good rides on Zanjero. I realize Zanjero is slow, but he may get in there for the super.

He has a much better chance to be in the real super.....the super for 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th.

Or, perhaps you had a dream about this one too.

No... only the dream about the winner coming out of the 9 hole. You're safe, Andy. ;)

As for Zanjero, there are slower horses in this field than him IMO.

blackthroatedwind 04-26-2007 12:13 PM

There are slower horses....but more " faster " horses.

Of course.

don't forget Zanjero's unblemished record in graded stakes of finishing 2nd or third.

You really think so? Those last four spots are usually for tiring speed horses. I can't imagine he does much worse than 12th with his running style and I definitely think he could get up for 4th in the end with the right trip and a hot pace. Sedgefield, on the other hand, has absolutely no chance. Even if the race were on turf he wouldn't win it.
