Unbreakable Records
From the three major sports (basketball, football, baseball), what do u guys think are the most impressive and least likely records to ever be broken? Here are some that come to my mind:
Johnny Vander Meer's back to back no-hitters. Remember, to break the record, a player would have to pitch THREE straight. Cy Young's 511 career wins. Wilt Chamberlain's 50.4 ppg for a season. Wilt Chamberlain's 27.2 rpg for a season. Bill Russell's 55 rebounds in a game. Jack Chesbro's 41 wins in 1904. Not the all-time record but I didn't consider anything before 1900. |
Cy Young's career wins record. All the others will likely never be touched but at least are conceivable under the current structure of the game. For anyone to ever get to 500 wins it would take a total shift back to pitchers making 60+ starts per season which won't happen.

the numbers wilt put up sound fake........27 boards a game:eek: plus i believe one year he led the league in rebounds AND assists. that will never happen again.

Cal Ripkens consecutive games record. The players today are babied so much, that there is no way that anyone will sniff that record.

Chief Wilson of the 1912 Pirates had 36 triples in one season. Nap Lajoie hit .426 in 1901 George Sisler hit .420 in 1920 when the rules are more like todays rules Rickey Henderson's career stolen bases record of 1406 and single season record of 130 Sam Crawford's record of 51 career Inside the park HR's Cy Youngs record of 749 Complete games Walter Johnsons record of 110 career shutouts Nolan Ryans records of 5714 K's, 215 games with 10 or more k's and the 7 no hitters Barry Bonds .609 On base % in 2004 |

Completing the Whorstmans UCLA bball records. 88 straight wins....
My friend Charlie Leone farting ~143 times in 1 minute. He swallowed air for 10 minutes and then showed unprecedented sphincter muscle control by firing off these odorless nitrogen/oxygen emmissions in rapid fire succession. A proverbial Gaitlin gun of passing wind. UnGodly. We used a hand held counter but the one minute of intense belly laughter during the record may have led to some minor inaccuracies in counting. Many may want an * by this feat but I chose a ~ because it really was right around this mark. |

UCLA basketball championships 1967 thru 1973 ....plus '64,'65,'75
total of 10 championships in 13 years...talk about a "dynasty" ! |
