Rondo returns

Everyone's favorite 3 million dollar maiden breaker returns to racing:

Wednesday's program marks the return of Rondo, a $2.9 million 2-year-old purchase during the winter of 2005 who has not started since winning his maiden by 9 1/2 lengths at Saratoga on July 26. Rondo, a son of Grand Slam out of the Storm Cat mare Dama, received a 103 Beyer Speed Figure for his maiden win.

Trained by Saeed bin Suroor and owned by Godolphin Racing, Rondo has wintered at Payson Park, where he shows six recorded works dating back to March 1, including a bullet five furlongs in 1:01.80 on March 31. He will go 6 1/2 furlongs under entry-level allowance conditions in his 2007 debut.

He must be a mule to still be in Florida this time of the year.

Rondo is a serious racehorse. He has graded stakes winner written all over him. Just want to see if he can stretch out. Win was very impressive.

He doesn't need to stretch out. If he's a sprinter, let him be. He won in a canter (no shock) in fast time. He's been considered a "stakes quality" horse since they paid $3m for him but he clearly has issues with regarding to staying racing sound.

He should stretch out with his pedigree. Most people don't pay $3M for a sprinter. I heard the same things about Ghostzapper and he stretch out just fine.

did the horse win

Rondo is 100% sound right now his problem was his shoulder and it just took some time to heel. and it should never bother him Again. (not saying somethig else cant happen). he is one serious race horse and he will prove that this year.

Ladies and gentleman, it's Derby Trail's first Rondo/Ghostzapper comparison! Didn't take long!

I didn't realize using Ghostzapper as an example was he same as comparing Rondo to Ghostzapper. Thanks for letting me know that. ;)

It comes off as "If Ghostzapper can do it, so can Rondo!" when you say stuff like that. But I'm just breaking balls anyway, so don't take it personally.
