Jockeys

Whos on who? Looks like No Biz, SS,Hard Spun, Tiago, and Great Hunter are set. I would think that Rafie will stay with Dominican. Maybe Assmusen is trying to upgrade his rider on Curlin. Looks like Pletcher has JR and prado but where is a question. The way the jockeys shake out could be a big part of the puzzle.

Robby should keep the mount on Curlin.

Prado is on Scat Daddy almost for certain. I'd say wait for JV's announcement as far as whether he goes to CQ or AGS. Gomez might stay with Zanjero if Pletcher doesn't need him, but right now I'd think Gomez goes on CQ, JV on AGS, Jara on Cowtown Cat, Ramon Dominguez on Sam P.

Albarado deserves to keep the mount, but I could see him being Curlin's undoing. I've just never been a Robby Albarado fan and I would love to hear somebody tell me when the last time Albarado getting on a horse was a plus.

I agree about Alberado. He wins races but I also see him losing races when he has the best horse. He has to have the best horse to win. He is the classic example of, just avoid trouble and he can win because he has the best horse. He is also the classic example of doing something that hampers the best horse like gunning for the lead prematurely or taking too far back and waiting too long.

its a damn shame that the best and my fav jock of all time doesnt have a derby mount but maybe someday ashton fitzpatrick:) will ride for yours truly in the derby

I thought I saw that GoGo was taking the mount on AGS and JV was riding CQ....not 100% sure, but I do think I saw that yesterday

That's pretty interesting. I'm sure much will be read into it if that's the case. In my opinion, as somebody who's liked AGS since last year, I really never thought Johnny V was a good fit. I like that Gomez has a much more aggressive style.

Now, GoGo is on Octave and AGS, he'll have a great shot to run 2nd in the Oaks and Derby. Each has shown an affinity for the runner-up spot.

If Soaring By runs well in the Lexington on Sunday and gathers up the graded earnings look for Coa to be on him in the Derby. As far as the Lexington, I'd guess JV will be on him.

Some riders seem to do their absoute best when the pressure is the greatest, some though are the opposite, Albarado is most definately not a big race rider in my opinion even though over time he has won a few decent races (have no clue what his record is in the BC or Triple Crown but that is big race to me).

"Rocky" Albarado getting on a horse in a big race has never been a plus.
