When I download the podcast. Whomever is hostings' voice is extremely loud as you have to raise the volume to hear the others. It almost blows the speakers out of my car and gives me a wicked headache. This show is the only podcast that it happens on! I wrote to ATRAB about 2 months ago as I am sure that it quite a simple level solution but obviously they don't care because it is still the same. I like the show but my Harmon Kardon stereo in my car is more important!

Dev,

It's not that we don't care.. Many times it's tough to balance the guest's levels on their cell phones.. When they come in low, it's impossible for the board op to try and manage both levels evenly. I'll reiterate to Wayne to do what he can...

Appreciate the heads-up..

Steve

Any possible solution to the one speaker (not stereo) problem we've been experiencing with the internet feed the past 2 weeks?

It only happens with the ATRAB internet feeds. We lost stereo and now the sound for the show only gets piped through one speaker, making the call in voices even harder to hear. I go from my office to the car stereo and its fine on Sirius radio:confused:

I find the direct opposite of what Deva states, Steve's voice has very good clarity. And I don't find it too loud at all. The guests that are on their cellphones are much more difficult to hear well, and understand clearly. Part of which may have to do with their telephones being held so close. Also, the deeper one's voice, if held too close, the less clear it is.

I'm glad this was noted, as I've hesitated to comment.

Somehow, please work it all out though, because the program is excellent, even when listening to a "three way conference call." Those can be a bear.

I have the same problem! It is that you have to raise the volume so much when the phone calls speak that when the host either Steve or JJ come back on that they almost blow me out of the car. LOL. I love the show but spend the whole time turning up and down the volume in my car because of this.
P.S Steve, by the way, I love it when you host. You make the show for a horseman much more interesting.

Announcement!

So, I had a talk with Wayne the sound guy about the problems we are hearing about on DerbyTrail and he changed some settings so that everyone should be able to hear the show out of BOTH speakers! We tested it and it seems fixed.

Also, he is going to try lowering the volume for the hosts, so that the guests are not so much softer and it wont blow you out of the car!

Let me know if the problems still remain.

Sounds better here - less popping and smoother audio.

Whats up everybody . New to the forum and the show. This forum and the show are great. Quick thanks to Steve for the tri box in the Lexington Stakes sat. Tried listening to the first hour of the show on the net yesterday and I kept getting an error message that my media player could not opne the file. Should i be using any specific type of program for listeing online? Or will windows media player do?

Thanks!

Samm 04-17-2007 03:42 PM

welcome! I use windows media player... now I was having trouble and just figured it out....go to "NOW PLAYING" go down to "ENHANCEMENTS" then go to "SRS WOW EFFECTS" click on it and make sure it is ON and it says NORMAL SPEAKERS... solved my problem... I don't know how it happened but it did... hope this helps... Now onto the bigger headache.... TAXES!

eagles725 04-17-2007 03:44 PM

Thanks!

Samm 04-17-2007 04:09 PM

another thing I found... under ENHANCEMENTS is a QUIET mode where you can turn it on and make the difference between loud sounds and low sounds either "little" or "medium" difference. that may help with some things blowing your ears out...
