Jamie Ness

Kev, Bigs, etc.. who the hell is Jamie Ness, and how is he turning 10,000 claimers into stakes winners:mad: I wish someone had warned me about him!

MinnSkinny 03-17-2007 06:55 PM

Golfer, where did this happen?

Terry...the winner in the turf sprint stake race at Tampa today...was a horse that Ness had claimed for $12,500. Was talking to Chuck about it earlier. That is pretty damn impressive...no?

Golfer...Ness's numbers are mind boggling. Routinely claims horses...bumps them up in class...and wins for fun. He is an auto include for any race he is entered...especially if Centeno is up.

a buddy of mine loved this horse today had him keyed in the tampa pick 4 and went win place on him, i thought he was crazy keying this horse in that race but i guess not

Coach Pants 03-17-2007 07:00 PM

Yeah I told my buddy that the horse would win but didn't bet it because 5-1 was too short a price.

*kicks self*

Kev, I wish you had mentioned that piece of information earlier. If you could see his TG sheet, his previous top before Ness (from now on to be known as "BN") was 5. Since the claim, zero, zero, 2.75 last on turf, today..? He also worked "magic" in the 7th with Silver Peagus, hadn't routed in the last 3 years before today, (he missed most of his 6yr old season) which was his 5th start for JN, numbers have improved from 11 down to 4 before today's effort. Must be special Hay and Oats, huh??

Sorry my friend. To be honest...I had zero plans to play anything at all today (work gets in the way sometimes), so I didn't even download the Tampa PP's. I just have played enough TBD to know NEVER toss Ness....ESPECIALLY first off the claim. I think he was batting about 41% with that stat the last I looked.

Kev I know Jamie, he trained for us at CBY, and I know his Dad John. Common as dirt and a hard worker, I am very happy for him. The syndicate still operates at CBY under "Slow Pay Stables", we were "Paddock Parners" when I was in it. Good for Jamie.

golfer 03-17-2007 07:10 PM

After his performance today, I can see why!

Minny, I don't mean to cast aspersions, I am not a horseman, just a small-time horse player.. but the sheets do tell an interesting story..

It is just one of those things that you take as a "given" and you don't ask questions...

anybody who follows cby regularly will know jamie's in the top 3 every meet there in the trainer standings so it should come as no surprise, traines my buddy dan's horses up there and hes more than pleased with jamie from what ive heard from him when hes spoke of jamie

pmayjr 03-17-2007 09:38 PM

When there was the "if you buy a horse who do you want to have train him?" thread going last week, Jamie Ness was the name I brought up. He's a damn good trainer, just give him a legit horse and he'll win. I'm happy for him too.

disappearingdan_akaplaya 03-17-2007 09:40 PM

well PM and minnskinny if jer mar stable didnt run up there in minn jamie probaly would be leading trainer, they run with robertson i believe and appear to have very deep pockets

mnmark 03-18-2007 12:01 AM

I know Jamie well. I am happy for his success at Tampa this meet. I got news for Mac Robertson at Canterbury this summer. Theres a new sheriff in town and his name is Jamie Ness!!! his stats with Centano riding for him this meet are mind boggling. I believe its like 28 for 56 50%.
