Tampa , 3-17

My prior history at Tampa isn't great, but Gulf card was very uninspiring, so I'll take another shot....

Race 1: #1 Prince Nick, looks solid if you ignore last on turf... #7 Gemway stretches back out off 2 wins in a row.. #5 Solarancho and #8 Balsero are dangerous longshots.

Race 2: #1 Madame Lil, has circle back pattern, should save ground.. #4 Tiger Like is solid for Derek Ryan.

Race 3: NOTHING special about this $8,000 claimer, but #3 Gia Maria seems to be improving, 12-1 ml...the favorite #10 Plays Pops Choice is the fastest coming in, may be compromised by outside post.. #6 Atylia is going turf to dirt, 2 out of last 3 are competitive with these...#9 Robyns Maid is 2nd time McAlister, and stretching out off win.

Race 4: #3 Bairds Village and #5 Theatrical Treatment seem like most likely winners...#10 Real Stormy, other than trainer, jockey & post position, could surprise.. nothing special in this race either.

Race 5: Finally a non "Tampa" quality race. #8 Stay Close is fast and consistent, solid play...#1 Throng, Pletcher 1st Turf, #6 Host normally runs big 1st off layoff, this is 2nd...#5 Electrify was nice 3 yr old last year, makes 1st turf try here.

Race 6: #1 Essence of Time, has been "resting" for almost 2 years, what to do with this horse?.. #7, favorite Meadow Mirage, fast but ships in with 0-2-? TG pattern, could attempt to beat.. which leaves us with #4 Lydia's Love, coming off nice maiden score, but this may be reaching a bit!

Race 7: ML favorite #6 Jamian, is highweight, but fastest coming in..#2 Suave Baron, #3 Dangerous Guy, and #4 Psychic Star are the others I would use.

Race 8: #2 Higher Appeal, 3rd career start, add Lasix, should be the one... #5 Peavey, #6 Party Jones, #8 Baby Mack are all dangerous, and longshot #7 Tale of a Monster can improve adding lasix.

Race 9: the 5 furlong turf sprint that everyone loves to handicap:) #8 Lord Robyn comes in with great form, 8-1 ML...#1 The Nth Degree, 2nd off the layoff, ran well in similar spot last year..#2 Looking for Secret's last 3 have been GREAT, could react today...#9 Dirtymoposse is rounding back into form, should be coming late.

Race 10: 2 favorites, #2 Autobahn Girl, and #7 Cotton Blossom look the best, normally would give edge to AG if TAP weren't training CB!!.. as crazy as this may seem, #6 Suaveness ran BIG 3 back at Tampa, has excuses in last 2.

Race 11: #1 Rich in Spirit was dissapointing in last, but did have wide trip, which shouldn't happen today from rail.. #6 My Typhoon is obvious one to beat... #4 On a Cloud, #7 Warrior Girl, and #9 Cassydora (can't leave out Pletcher, now can we!) are usable.

Race 12: Tampa Bay Derby. To take a stand against Street Sense or not???? ahhh Might as Well!! #4 Any Given Saturday is most likely winner, if you need a longshot, how about #7 Delightful Kiss, his last at Gulf was exceptional.

Race 13: interesting turf finale. I like the pattern on #3 Hot Canary, use with #5 Tiz Nik, #2 Jenny Joy, #4 Tuckered, #7 The Lady Waffles, and #10 Chic Cat.

As always, Good Luck.. playing Tampa, wer'e gonna need lots of it!

does anyone else like my typhoon as much as i do , or do you think i need to try to back off of her a little ?

hurricanefrank 03-17-2007 08:51 AM

I think My Typhoon will need a race. Her class alone could carry her the distance vs these, but a tighter, improving #9 Cassydora (3-1) will prove her undoing. We haven't seen the best of this Pletcher-trained mare yet and her last over the Tampa sod (95 Beyer) was excellent.

I'm trying to beat Pletcher today with a pick four.

9th 1,2,4,5,6,8,10
10th 2
11th 1 6 7 9
12th 2

$28 wager

Does anyone else think Desire to excel could steal the Filly race? I'm using her.. just a feeling..

I think AGS is a solid single in that race. No one from the BC Day has come back to run well (Round Pound/DOA/Thor's Echo) and SS is going to be 2/5 or 3/5.

10: 2,5,7
11: 4,6,9
12: 4

POINTGIVEN1985 03-17-2007 04:14 PM

i cannot belive that todd's horse is favored over my typhoon im unloading on her to win, if shes losses im ****ed because shes keyed in my pick 4, but i like her so much its worth the risk, good luck to everyone and lets all hope my typhoon gets it done
