Question, What is Steadied Repeatedly?
 
Discribing the way a horse finishes a race. Thanks

Well very often it means that Gomez rode the horse, just kidding.
Means that the horse had traffic troubles and the jockey had to keep standing up and wrangling him because he had no room to run. Means teh horse had a bad trip.

So, if the horse still got up by a neck at the end , that would be a good thing then, or would it mean because of that, he had plenty of horse left to pass and win? Thanks for the explaination. :cool:

It varies from horse to horse and situation to situation ...

... some horses relax when they're steadied and have more energy left for the final drive ... while ...

... while other horses get frightened or frustrated and waste energy when steadied ... then have nothing left.

Sometimes the same horse will react differently from race to race. Unfortunately ... you can only discern this after the race ... not before.

I totally agree. Each situation is different, as is each horse.
If it's a 2yo running so green vs a 4yo that can't find the hole, you just need to know whether you're comparing apples with apples or apples with oranges.
