Thought this might interest those looking for a good cause to help, I know first hand how this disease affect lives...

I lost my mom when she was 35 to the disease, too- thanks for posting the link; what a great article! Here's hoping to a long and successful career for Larry.

You're sweet. It was a long time ago. She was unlucky in that she was misdiagnosed twice, but breast cancer in young women is usually so aggressive I don't know if would have made a difference.

I have another aunt (related by marriage) however, who, while also being diagnosed in her early 30's, is still fighting. The cancer has spread, finally, but it took it 20 years, and in the meantime she got pregnant (against doctors' orders), had a son and raised him to adulthood. She's very inspirational. :)

I think I'll send her the article about Larry. :)

In the case of my sister-in-law, we thought she had it beat and then it spread to her liver...little over 3 months, she was gone :(

I'm sorry- that's so hard; when it seems like it's going to be smooth sailing and then it comes back. My aunt had two remissions of several years' length each and it still came back. She's always had a positive attitude though- she once said if she had an autobiography, the title would be "Fortunate Fish" (She's a Pisces)

Hey, that's be a fun name for a racehorse foaled in March. Maybe a son of Real Quiet, since they called him "the Fish." :)

A friend of mine on another board just found out about a month ago that she had breast cancer. I sent her this article too. Now thats a horse people can root for.

First paid $24,600. $2,400. is a nice addition to research.

Wouldn't it be great if Call Me Larry turned into a great horse and picked up wins in some of the bigger races!

Hopefully other owners will think of doing something like this, It could help others and racing.
