And proud of it. I am more often compared to Princess Leia than any other fictional character. (And by people besides myself, thank you very much.)

One of my earliest movie memories is Darth Vader's first appearance in "Star Wars." i was so terrified I nearly crawled under my seat. And at a birthday party a few months later, five of us brought Princess Leia action figures for the birthday girl. Holy cow, that character was an icon for a generation of girls.

My kids 7 & 5 are into the Star Wars thing now, but the problem is that to them Star Wars 1,2, and 3 are the new ones, while I'm still calling the original #1 and they call it #4. See, I confused myself just trying to type this.

What are you doing, letting them watch those travesties known as Episodes 1, 2 & 3, anyway? Not that the Ewoks weren't fracking annoying in Episode 6, but compared to the first three, "Jedi" is "On the Waterfront."

Okay, my geek is really showing. I'm going to go meet some of my own kind now and see "Zodiac."

Mind you, I'm the one who, at age 11, was complaining "ET" was manipulaitve, so take my critiques with a grain of salt. Maybe I was just bitter about getting packages of Reeses Pieces (which at the time I hated) from every well-meaning relative for the next two years.
