were in bad shape

chicago racing that is. look at the overnight(entries) that just came out for sunday and theyre absolutely awful. took them till after 3 to come out and you can obviously see why with the field sizes! its lookin like bay meadows these days here, even worse. well i guess after GLD shuts down this year we got all that "great" stock to look forward to running here to boost field size. since arlington got poly it may just be an 8 month meet there as the only t bred racing in chicago if this keeps up

ArlJim78 03-09-2007 03:26 PM

i've seen those fields, they usually will have six horses and the odds will range from a high of 7/2 to a low of 8/5. zzzzzzzz

well jim hawthornes usual cry is theyll get better fields once the fairgrounds and oaklawn ends but by then the meets almost over and its onto arlington. and this fall dont expect alotta people to stick around here after arlington and or have strings here like they usually do like asmussen and calhoun etc etc when they already have strings at remington which has slots, a better racetrack and backstretch, longer turf racing into the fall and justa nicer place overall

i hear you, and agree. its seems to be dying at hawthorne. i've even noticed the Arlington meet declining since I moved over here 5 years ago. There wasn't much up from KY last year like in comparison to five years ago. the poly might help reverse that trend.

Hey don't knock GLD. It's the only thing I have going up here right now.

randallscott35 03-09-2007 04:55 PM

Playa Chi racing is awful. One good day a year isn't pretty.

FINALLY!!!!....It took you like 8 years to finally RIP on me...

That was a real good one too, I am surprised you have the capacity to come up with that....I am rubbing off too much

That doesn't mean the quality is awful. 10 claimers at Finger Lakes may be bettable, it doesn't make it good racing. And the takeout is an absurd 18.5% there. No go.

I believe other than the 1% bump in NY, this is up to date.

i am giong to hurt you if the 4 or 5 win the 6th race at SA. I was putting in my only wager for today (late pick four) and I put in the 5th, 7th and 8th, then I read your post, and I SCREWED up this wager and used the 1,7,8 when I wanted the 1,4,5....if the 7 or 8 win then I like you still

Lowest in the industry, which is why they payout so well even when chalks win

I stand corrected but I'm not a crack head.
17% is too high anyway for the dreadful level of racing...I know you are a Chi homer but you need to be unbiased. It is what it is.

Scav 03-09-2007 05:20 PM

Keeneland has a 17% takeout on pick 3's, 4's and 6's....that is amazing

Unbelievable.....UN"F"N BELIEVABLE...

I would have had the 1,4 with the 3........$18 over a $12....oh man...I am praying I miss the next two legs

disappearingdan_akaplaya 03-09-2007 05:59 PM
