The Irony Of Some Who Will

Wager money that would buy their kids new shoes on this horse:(

Saturday at Fair Grounds, 10th race

5 Baby Needs Shoes Lanerie C J

By the way, what a card!

That horse may have been the most foolishly placed horse I had been waiting to bet in my entire lifetime. Early in the 2005 Saratoga meet she returned off a layoff and was totally given a race....sent to the front even though she was never a speed and finished nowhere. I waited the whole meet for her and she finally showed up in a maiden race on closing day.....against colts! Brilliant move by then trainer Pete Vestal. She lost the whole thing by about a length at 20-1.

Obviously she jogged at a short price against fillies in her next start.

Pete Vestal, in a completely unrelated point of course, is no longer training.

I am a bad man (great line from one of my favorite movies ever, props if ya know it) but I can't stop laughing at this thread I posted and this horses name

Visions of Beulah run thru my head on a dreary day, as a lady wagers her babys shoes on a 8 today

The Muniz is an excellent race.

blackthroatedwind 03-07-2007 07:29 PM

I don't know about that but there are some decent shippers and five or six who can win.

blackthroatedwind 03-07-2007 07:37 PM

Drysdale has two and Frankel has one.

The New Orleans has two horses that MIGHT be OK...and the rest are VERY mediocre.

Five or SIX???

I am playing a pick three starting in this race as I do not like Zophie in the next race and I am singling in the last leg...I see three that can win this race...what are your five/six?

blackthroatedwind 03-07-2007 07:47 PM

The five are Naissance Royale, Sweet Return, Hendrix, King's Drama and Einstein and the sixth is Heat of the Night.

dont like zophie at your own risk

Disagree with Einstein, too quick back for me and will get the widest trip possible with Albarado on him. Sweet Return is interesting but I don't think he wants this distance, and won't get an easy lead with Drama/Einstein in the race, if either pull back, he could be lone speed though so I see why you think he has a shot. My negative with Hendrix is that he hangs, training well though, not sure what to think about JV in that race on Pletchers horse. I agree about Clement's horse, looks to be spotted perfectly and getting 4-7lbs from the contenders, might be overlooked because she is the opposite sex also

also in the second stone house was a much the best winner last out he should take these out..

einst will be the one to beat..if you did not see the horrific ride he got last out ..it was ..if the jock makes up his mind ..lay back save ground or gunns and run he should win this.

I never said I like them all but a reasonable case can be made for all of them.

She might be added just because besides Octave, their isn't much in the race....

O'Neil's horse isn't a two turn horse, Nicks is reaching with the 2, Flint is capable and Prado gets aboard, Amoss is always dangerous with his jump ups but not here, Hawley is really reaching wth DAD...there is MORE speed in this race and I think Octave gets the greatest trip. Pletcher is SO dangerous in this spot.....

blackthroatedwind 03-07-2007 08:06 PM

I like Bertie.
