If Zito was smart, point for distances under a mile an a eighth...(Artax (GP) 4/7, Carter (AQU) 4/7,Commonwealth (KEE) 4/14) any one of those as a prep for the Met Mile. I still believe that this horse can win a lot more races at a sprint to a mile distances. I know there's not many good older handicap horses on the east coast, but he won't get that grade I going long.

i think he's sitting on a big year, a year where he actually wins some of those close one's.

With ol' Drift on the downside of a long career, I'm excited to see SK back to keep me active with my all/ SK /all trifectas.

POINTGIVEN1985 03-05-2007 10:05 AM

i love perfect drift....

The biggest threat to SK's quest for a G1 on the East Coast is Corinthian, unless Invasor comes back from Dubai.

Guys this is gonna be a nice Jun-Nov for the older horses. Might finally have some decent races after Invasor,DC,Premium Tap,SNS get back from Dubai.

Along wit Sun King,Corinthan,Old Salt, might get some good fields for the big races

You know the racing in America is lacking when people are getting excited about the return of Sun King.

well said. the older horse situation is absolutely pathetic right now.

Thunder Gulch 03-05-2007 06:00 PM

The older division doesn't look deep now, but Invasor is a star, Lava Man plays the role of a star on the west coast, and there are a few that just graduated from the 3yo ranks with at least a glimmer of talent.

POINTGIVEN1985 03-05-2007 06:43 PM

older horse division is not pathetic, you dont know what your talking about....

Well I think it does look fairly weak, at the moment. It is always fairly tough to evaluate at this time of year, however, because you never know who will be around in the fall, and what 3 year olds will emerge that will compete in the big fall races for 3yo and up.

I've noticed that you are having a difficult time with people criticizing everything you say. I'm only a couple years older than you and I don't think it has anything to do with age. Let's take this particular comment for example. If you run into a comment from somebody you don't agree with, don't take it personal and don't make it personal. Maybe try something like:

"I think the handicap division actually isn't pathetic at all. I think you could have potential stars like Lawyer Ron, Master Command, Corinthian, to go along with old faces like Sun King and the Dubai contingent."

It might behoove you to not say things to people like: "You don't know what you're talking about.

This is just a little helpful advice. If you deem it unnecessary then kindly disregard it. You have strong opinions which, while very interesting, leave you open to criticism should they be disproven.

Good racing luck to all!
