Horrible Horse Story

I'm sitting here watching the news and the lead story on CBS is this horse being transported that kicked the bottom out of the truck somehow and leg got crushed and was dangling against the road.

Do you know who trained him?

Oh man... that is horrible to read. :(

He's actually a 4-year-old gelding...not a 3yo.

In his most recent start, he ran 3rd in a turf sprint at Belmont Park last October, and had been racing at Finger Lakes prior to that.

awful...just awful. :(
When my horse shipped up to VT from CT he did something similar (though obviously not as bad since he survived)...he put his front leg through the partition wall in the trailer...even with thick shipping wraps he tore up his leg pretty bad....

that's just terrible... never shipped a horse, but seems like this is something that could be prevented with not much effort.

At another forum I visit I read that the ASPCA is involved. That seems right to me.
