need bigger fields

The San Clemente is a very interesting affair that should be a good betting race. Intrigued to see how the new turf course plays and what kind of trip My Conquestadory works out from post 12.

He's kidding. The Thurs & Sat fields are generally over-subscribed. The DMR season will be outstanding if they're able to come close to sustaining the early action at the entry box.

Its still polytrac so I wont be playing much.

alysheba4 07-19-2014 08:15 AM

agree, even though its my home track the surface is a complete debacle.

Kitan 07-19-2014 03:19 PM

I used to love playing Del Mar, and was even pretty successful there. The surface has made it a complete crapshoot. As a gambler, I still think there are ways to make a profit, turf races aside, but with this being the last year of the surface I'll just save most of this year's bankroll for next!

I do like Tepin in the San Clemente. Her first race was clearly a prep, and her turf debut I don't think was as bad as it seems. Half to Vyjack, make of that what you will, but her full brother is a turf winner so at a big price I'm willing to give her another shot on the surface as she comes in firing away in the mornings in a race with vulnerable favs.

Good call, horse ran well.

Gotta have speed on both turf and dirt, they just are not coming back like you would expect.

$17.20 to place...I should have at least gone 50 WP instead of 100 straight to win in the DMTC contest :zz:
