Smarty Cide seems like a weird name too.

This should put Dortmund into perspective, especially given their rivalry with Bayern:

What a great race. Dortmund had to grind at it to prevail but given his heft, doubt that Los Al configuration did anything to help him. As discussed this week on air, you knew Firing Line was authentic the way he sold and how fast he works for a conservative guy like Simon Callaghan. Mr Z showing he's the type that relishes a fight and obviously has come through the Lukas gauntlet well. Helluva end to the 2yo stakes season!

Great recap from Privman. Many a twittiot who has no idea what they watched should benefit from reading it. Would seem to send up a warning flare for Mr Z going forward: http://www.drf.com/news/dortmund-win...mitos-futurity

Dortmund wins Los Al Futurity

A really thrilling 5 horse race, REALLY .

Pretty much think he's my Derby horse, as Baffert says he reminds him of Point Given and I was a big PG fan. He's lightly raced and is very professional in his races.

Firing Line Has His Guns Pointed Towards Louisville In May

Firing Line gave a scintillating performance of himself being headed out from victory by 3-5 favorite Dortmund in the Grade One $500,000 Los Alamitos Futurity. Here's a look at his past performance and pedigree.

Sire - Line of David $12,500.

Can't think of an other horse sired by him, I'll stick w / Dortmund.

Doonior1 12-22-2014 10:45 AM

Line of David is a Freshman Sire and ranks #11 in earnings. He has had only 28 runners this year. Big Brown has 2 years on him, has 12 stakes winners, and is a top third crop sire. Big Brown also ranked #11 as a Freshman Sire, but had 1 stakes winner with more runners than Line of David. Line of David was a head short of equaling him. There is a reason you haven't heard of many Line of David horses, but that doesn't mean he can't produce stakes caliber horses...he's just started.
