I liked a lot of his stuff. I have a CD of his in my truck that I listen to pretty often. Some of it is a bit twangy, especially some of the country songs he recorded in his show in Branson, but some of his other stuff like "Galveston,"
"Wichita Lineman," his version of "Mary In The Morning" and others I like quite a bit. Liked his TV show too. Very sad what happened to him and so many others with Alzheimer's.

He was way too good of a guitar player to be considered country. You didn't have to know any of the songs to listen to Glen Campbell and love it. You tube has some amazing stuff.

22years ago today jerry Garcia passed away at 53. RIP

He was a much more talented (self-taught, couldn't read music) guitar player than most know, and had a distinctive tenor voice that stayed with him until the end. I heard yesterday that he played his guitar for the other residents in the Alzheimer's facility where he ended up. Not a surprise, as he was always an entertainer.

I grew up hearing him on the radio, and these days hearing Gentle on my Mind, Galveston, Wichita Lineman and By the time I get to Phoenix damn near make my eyes wet.

Thanks for all the beautiful music, Glen. I imagine you're playing duets with John Hartford again.

I had no idea that Glen and Alice Cooper were best friends. That seems like an odd couple. Here is a great interview with Cooper discussing their friendship.
