Still no Bobby's Kitten? My Derby future bet flyer is looking bleak.

Did you really bet a run off turf horse, who is really just OK on turf to win the Kentucky Derby?

cakes44 02-27-2014 06:56 PM

You bet I did!

I was obviously mistaken in thinking that Bobby's Kitten and Testa Rossi would run this weekend. I'm sure they'll both surface at Tampa next week. Chad Brown has used the Tampa turf course with success in the past.

Won't be much of a betting race with Ribo Bobo entered, but I'm glad to see the Caixa Electronica fill.

Havana 4/5, No Nay Never 9/5 at post for The Swale sound about right or no?

declansharbor 02-28-2014 09:56 PM

Almost half of tomorrow's 8th race entrants are first off the bench. :zz:

Tough race.

I'm looking hard at Lezcano's mount the 2 @ 12-1 morning line. Hoping he can get a swifter pace to close into than last time out.

I think the 8th is all 2 and 5. Just using those two in the pick 3.

The Proctor horse (#13) doesnt intrigue you? Horse could relish the slight cutback. Likes distance, has run well on track before.

Also, hard to believe Newsdad has yet to finish off the board at Gulfstream in 7 starts. Wow.

Havana scratched with a quarter crack, per reports.

Indian Charlie 03-01-2014 11:37 AM

An overnight quarter crack?

On the show TAP was extremely positive about him, its kind of hard to believe its just a quarter crack but who really knows. The horse is way too important to the connections for them to be 100% forthright. First major colt carrying the Dunkirk blood.

In this week's appearance, despite the setback, Pletcher was still upbeat about HAVANA. Made it sound like the quarter crack indeed popped up quickly, has been given the Ian McKinlay darning treatment and won't miss any serious training time.

Also from Pletcher visit, 2-for-2 ANCHOR DOWN (Tapit) who 96 Beyered Saturday in a 6f ALW win, will likely get a 9f audition and it appears that the Florida Derby is the spot. Palm Beach hero GALA AWARD (Bernardini) meanwhile, will predictably point for the Blue Grass..
