Melbourne,Australia Summer Carnival 2010

Well as we Know the big races are just around the corner, Who will Win the Big 3  Caulfield Cup,Cox Plate & of course the Major
Melbourne Cup!!!!:$:.
Shootout is apparently the Dead Cert for the Cox plate but alot can change before then.
Can't wait to see what new Hero's emerge from the pack:tro:

_ed_ 08-23-2010 08:31 PM

Look out for Katie Lee. They had been talking about the Cox Plate, but I don't think she'll get the 2040m, so I'm happy that they've changed their minds and they're going to go for the fillies and mares races.

I really think she's the best horse we've sent over there since Sunline.

magic_idol 08-24-2010 03:51 AM

I will Def Black Book her mate & Hopefully make some:$::$::rolleyes:

Toorak Toff must be hard to beat in the Golden Rose. His last start win was huge.

Didn't like Crystal Lily's first-up run, but she could improve a lot on that.

my miss storm cat 08-24-2010 11:47 PM

I like her so much and can't believe I'm going against her (especially with my favorite jockey) but Hinchinbrook for the win here. :)

(... and More Joyous, of course)!

magic_idol 08-25-2010 12:38 AM

I have to go my Fav Mare ;)

4 AVENUE ..With 1 SQUAMOSA & 11 CRYSTAL LILY to fight out the other:D

my miss storm cat 08-27-2010 12:44 AM

Littorio injured and out for the season (poor guy)...

* * *

Good luck to Newport (oh shut up I still like him :D ) (Patinack Farm Premiers' Cup, Rosehill) and to Here De Angels ( should win the Clamms Seafood Stakes, Caulfield).

I actually think Faint Perfume of Whobegotyou wins here. Tracy wins the next out. Good luck to Red Ruler here... come home safe (don't expect him to hit the board but - just like my boy Black Piranha finally did last season (the one time i didn't bet him damnit!) he will have one great win this season. It just won't be here).

magic_idol 08-27-2010 03:46 AM

Shootout wins this Daylight 2nd .....................Form Horse;)

This one scares me... I think I need to do something with him on top (as well)...

Good ol' Rick Hore Lacy, he may be a mand man, but boy can he train - and he knows when he's got a good one!

He told me back in March that he had a stallion prospect on his hands in the shape of this fella, and so far he looks to be right. He should have won a GR1 as a 2yo, but Cassidy butchered him in Sydney in the Autumn.

How was Reward For Effort allowed to go off at $3.40........ that was buying money!

Probably the biggest win of the day was So You Think, not just the way he won, the fact he was still on the bridle when he went past Typhoon Tracey! Considering he's had minor surgery and a very long spell, that was massive. Big credit goes out to Shoot Out who toughed it out three wide and came home hard, but he's gonna need to find even more improvement if he is going to get past So You Think in the Cox Plate judging by this effort. MASSIVE RUN.

Must also mention Moudre - sublime win at Caulfield today. He couldn't be with a nicer trainer, Ciaron and I had a good chat while I was down at Mt Gambier in March and he told me to watch for this horse - and I've yet to back him!!!!! He looks like a serious Caulfield Cup contender after today's win.

Also, just as an aside, we had a full brother to Hay List born on the farm this morning. A big colt (taking after his brother) with plenty of quality. Early days, but he looks like a good foal.

My head is still spinning from looking at this field.

I know how good Heart of Dreams is but wow... the odds on some of the ones I really like are insane.

Not sure how to play it. Maybe I'll just watch and root for C'est la Guerre, Red Ruler, Monoco boy and about 5 others. :D :wf

Good luck to anyone playing.

magic_idol 09-04-2010 02:51 PM
