Congrats to Chuck, Susan, PSH (Paul Harte), Nik Juarez & Joe the Dude too!

Thanks Steve.
We certainly don't buy the most expensive yearlings and so they are often with pedigrees that aren't typical of getting them to the races early and most likely not until they are three years of age. Killer Bird is by Summer Bird and she was a very big young horse who got to the races midway last year when she was three and it is rewarding to have a trainer like Chuck who not only has a great eye in buying these yearlings at bargain prices but has the patience (something that I lack) to have them grow and wait until they are ready. Killer Bird ran a really nice race to win on Sunday and the good news is that we have a relatively fresh four-year old filly who is still eligible to improve and race the next 2-3 years before we retire her to the breeding side of the game.

Gelato Gal is a filly that we actually stepped up and paid a bit more at the Keeneland Fall yearling sale in book 4 or 5. She was one of the two best fillies according to Chuck in the sale on that particular day (both by Hat Trick) and has been training up to her debut which should be sometime later this month also at Gulfstream Park. She is bred for the turf being by Hat Trick and we are hoping she can develop into a good miler.

Oklahoma Den the old NY bred gelding is scheduled to run on April 9th as we are dropping him in class to find the right level.

We have recently retired Pennypennypenny and she is doing better after her last race and will look to breed her in Ocala next year.

Lastly, two mares that we raced awhile back Angry Dragon and Red Baroness (both by Smarty Jones) have their 2-year old NY bred colts sired by Frost Giant scheduled to be shipped from Ocala to Palm Meadows downs in May/June timeframe.

Thanks again

Thanks PSH for the update on Penny. She's a personal favorite. I was wondering if she was done after December and she hadn't been back yet. Best of luck with breeding her and I hope she produces nice foals for you.

Congrats in order once again as Chuck, Paul Harte (PSH) & Rispolli click in Saturday's GP opener with Oklahoma Den!

Thanks...That was exciting

Our old warrior Oklahoma Den gave us a thrill winning the first at GP on Saturday. Very exciting and thankful that the wire came in the nick of time. Thanks as always to Team Simon and Hope you cashed.

We have two running on Wednesday May 4. Killer Bird is back in the 4th and continues to train well for this one. Moves up facing winners.

Gelato Gal is in the 6th for her second start. In her debut at 5/8 on the grass she broke slowly and never had a chance to recover given the short distance. She is training well should appreciate the mile distance and are expecting improvement in a tough MSW race

Thanks again
Paul

Congrats; and loved the piece about getting them as yearlings and being patient.

Killer Bird is such, such a great name.

That was a real exciting win for Killer on the slop and now back to back wins. Gelato Gal ran a much improved effort in the slop getting 3rd place today. She needs more gate schooling and look for her to get back on the turf going two turns in about a month. Killer came out of her race in good order.

Chuck purchased a Stay Thirsty colt at Ocala 2-year old training sale a couple of weeks ago that we bought into and he is already starting week 2 at Palm Meadows training center.

The 2 Frost Giant 2 -year old homebred colts are training well in Ocala and are about to be shipped to Chuck at Palm Meadows in the next two weeks. They were bred to our Smarty Jones fillies Angry Dragon and Red Baroness.

Finally, Pennypennypenny is doing well at the barn in Palm Meadows before a decision is made whether to send her to Ocala and start a career as a broodmare..

Again thanks for all of the well wishes and we will have a lull the next 3-4 weeks before Oklahoma Den, Killer Bird and Gelato Gal make their next starts

Cannot wait to start following them. If they haven't been named yet, I may or may not have checked the Jockey Club Name book to see if "Frost Dragon" is available. ;)

(Yes, I was a D&D nerd as a pre-teen. It made me super popular. Not.)
