Vogue Australia featured the great mare just as US Vogue featured Rachel Alexandra. Well deserved and looks fantastic.

Get out of her way tonight

ADJMK 04-13-2019 12:01 AM

Standing room only crowd to see her race

ADJMK 04-13-2019 12:03 AM

If you bet on her you can collect your winnings and then get the ticket back to save as a souvenir. Great idea

ADJMK 04-13-2019 12:06 AM

Looks terrific on parade. Stretches out to 1 1/4 tonight

Alabama Stakes 04-13-2019 12:10 AM

An emphatic win as Winx goes out a winner.

Wins for fun like the true champion she is. Amazing training job to keep her going for 4 years at that level

Winx has accomplished a lot and it's no easy feat. Huge congratulations to her going out a winner.

Yet, I got kind of bored. Yeah, I wrote that, bored. Fantastic winners like her are nothing to sneeze at. However, I get more excited about horses who run outside of their comfort zone.

When I think of extraordinary horses I think of those such as Enable who has won G1s in the UK, France, and the U.S. I know not all horses handle traveling well yet I truly believe Winx would have been brilliant at Ascot like Australia’s Black Caviar and the U.S.’s Lady Aurelia. Even if they had sent Winx to Dubai, I think she would have been wonderful. I just got bored of her doing the same ‘ol, same ‘ol.

Dare I say it? For me, it started feeling as if I was watching the Pepper’s Pride of Australia. Not that Pepper’s Pride is in any way the same league as Winx, it just became boring for me, anyway.

My hope is that she produces great runners that participate and win in races around the world. Now that will be a huge accomplishment.

Bored ? When a hoss we had won 2 claiming races in a row it was the biggest thrill ever. Never got bored watching Winx or Zenyatta or Songbird win win win. Graded Stake after graded stake.

ADJMK 04-13-2019 11:22 AM

Lots of huge bets on her including the largest TAB bet of all time $550,000.
Guess these guys will have to back to getting bank interest now.

Does anyone have a good barometer of the quality of horses she faced versus what level they would be running at in US racing?

Is it Grade 2, Grade 3, or something else?

Not discounting what she did because it really is truly amazing. Just wondering. I could never imagine a horse doing this in the US. So many different ways to lose a race.

Winning 33 straight at any level is quite the feat especially since most of the field sizes were 8 and above. Not sure how it compares to US but 24 of the 33 were Grade 1 races out there. Here is the overview on this horse.

Agreed. She won about $10M Aus$, which is about $7M US$, so she wasn't running for peanuts. Yeah, I, too, wish she'd traveled to Europe or the US, but those international flights run in both directions, so anyone thinking she and her competitors were lightweights had ample opportunity to test her.

I will miss that horse. Congrats to all involved!

Sad to report that Winx lost her first foal last night. Hopefully Winx will be ok .
