So there’s no pick five the consist of all Breeders’ Cup races . what ****ing idiot decided that schedule ? You can’t make this shi5 up. How can They put a ****ing moron in charge of such a big event. He needs an open hander. A good one.

It was the same last year. I don't believe they can just implement a pick 5 at their discretion. They are currently legislated to offer a pick 5 on races 1 through 5.

Did Nyra need legislation for their private pick 5 party? Or did they just do it?
It's breeders cup. They can do whatever the **** they want. Who's gonna say they can't, the breeders cup or Del mar police ?

I'm content with this. It means less money for me to lose.

I believe they had to do it through legislation but I am by no means an expert on that.

In New York, NYRA must gain approvals through the Gaming Commission.

In California, those changes/requests work through the CHRB (CA Horse Racing Board) and TOC (Thoroughbred Owners of California).

Alabama Stakes 10-25-2017 11:37 AM

Oh yeah, I forgot about the CHRB and TOC and their hard line on the pick 5 due to the Low takeout...my bad.

Why would they offer such a popular wager ? That would be a player friendly move.

I really don't get why you're so upset by this. To my recollection, the pick-5 isn't normally offered on the Breeders' Cup card.

Saturday's pick-5 will consist of three $200,000 stakes races, followed by two Grade 1 BC races, and will most likely pay handsomely. This quintet of races will be far superior to 99.9% of all other pick-5s offered in North America this year.

If this bet doesn't appeal to you, then play the pick-6 or double down on the pick-4s instead, or just sit out the wagering this year and enjoy watching a great day of racing.

I’m sure I’m in the big minority of people who might want to play the low takeout pick 5 on 5 breeders cup races. Probably not much interest out there in doing that, when we can play 3 other lesser races instead.

Don't get me wrong. I pay close attention to takeout rates, and use them to decide on which tracks, which wagers, and how much money to wager. I boycotted Keeneland this Fall Meet because of their takeout increase, and will continue to do so if the rates remain unchanged in Spring 2018.

In the early 2000s, BC offered low-takeout wagers on "head-to-head" and "even-odd" bets. I loved these pools, bet heavily into them, and wish they still existed. But the fact is that they don't, and I accept that. I wish there was a pick-5 in the final five races Saturday, but there isn't. I just don't feel a need to unleash a string of obscenities upon and advocate violence against (even if in jest) the racing secretary because of it, and it's not ruining my day.

I hope you find value somewhere on the BC card and have a successful Breeders' Cup weekend!

Funny that even after eliminating "Filly Friday" the last five races all wind up for the boys.
