Is it summer already?

Steve, do you think there should be Derby prep points associated to this race?

Sure, but it will have to be in '14.. And for this year, remember that graded earnings still figure into the equation as tiebreaker.

It was obviously a smart move by the racing association in New York to shuffle this race to the start of the season.

Either that, or make the race extinct.

He wont beat Longriver anyway, but Im hoping Rudys horse totally falls apart late. Would love to get any type of price on him sprinting.

This is dumb even for you.

How? Im not saying I want the horse to get injured. He is by a sprinter. The female family is all sprint. I also know even if he were to be pulled up he would not be a huge price sprinting. But if he is as good a sprinter as I think he can be then 5-2 is fine.

Isn't Vyjack a half to Prime Cut? He wasn't the best, but I didn't think he embarrassed himself in routes.

I'll answer you when you pay off your debts.

I don't like Notacatbutallama at all, but his 10/1 morning line seems like a very bad line.

Just the fact that he's Pletcher and getting a jockey switch to Dominguez. The multiple stakes win on the turf shouldn't count for much of anything, but they will to some people.

Mudflaps is 3/1 on the ML and he will probably go off at about the same price.

Second most likely winner behind Long River. O'neil is not moving anything up off of Eddie K. Mudflats is just OK. Rudys horses cant last.

You are really putting the Spinx Jinx on Long River.

Maybe not, Mudflaps last race is very fast on sheets I guess.

It proved to be way too much of a wiseguy morning line.

Notacatbutallama went off at 5/1 (10/1 ML) and Mudflaps went off at 8/1 (3/1 ML)

I don't mean to knock the ML maker Donovan -- he usually does a good job in races where horses have established form...and relatively speaking, he's a great linemaker compared to the absolute clowns who make the ML's at a lot of racetracks.

Some of the tracks in the Southwest (Texas, New Mexico) are notorious for having imbeciles making the morning lines. I've seen horses with established form who are 15/1 on the ML who are as certain as death and taxes to go off as clear cut post time favorites.

At PID, the morning lines don't even add up and some of them are based on about a 55% win takeout.
