No More Tears! Lovely win.

_ed_ 03-04-2016 09:15 PM

Oh, Sacred Star. In case anyone might have forgotten how good you are, thanks for that reminder.

_ed_ 03-04-2016 09:39 PM

I believe Durham Town has been retired after that GREAT third placing in the Darley. What a horse.

Just watched the replay again and I can't catch my breath haha whoa what a finish but it's frustrating cause I can hear when the announcer says something about Splendido but cannt actually see what happened going up the rise (?). Cheers to Rangipo and to his wonderful stable mate Raghu and to What's the Story!!!!!

That was awesome and oh Durham Town... I need to go watch that again.

Not that this matters for such a miniscule amount but..

Nice!

What a close Derby. I was wrong about Rangipo - he's got plenty of stamina!

I'm not sure what happened with Splendido. He definitely hit the rail, and he might have stumbled for a step or two. But he seemed to be fine afterwards, luckily! Capella and Valley Girl were both affected by it, which made their performances even better.

Thanks and I am really stunned you took the time to answer as I know you're writing simultaneously (just read two of your pieces)... so exciting... all the races... must get some sleep but will watch ALL the replays again first thing. : )

Hooray for Derby Day! :tro: :)

It's embarrassing how many times I have now watched the Derby Day replays.I think I felt a little... cheated? Like I wasn't ready for it cause of being so busy with non-horsie life things lately. Ah well. Just a wonderful day of racing.

This made my morning... seeing that wonderful horsies name on The Informant... :)

"Whenever a float turns up he gets excited and we’re close to the racecourse here so when the races are on we have a big stereo unit turned up loud outside his box so he can’t hear anything

“If he hears the commentator he just gets stirred up and wants to get out there"

Aaaah I love you, Iamishwara. :D

Oh, I heard some amazing news about Durham Town that I included in my article about his retirement! Unfortunately it's going in the newspaper, so it will only be available to subscribers. :(

Maybe I'll post the relevant snippets here once the paper is out on Friday. :)

Excellent fields for Saturday. Three G1s and a G2!

Here's the Derby winner's maiden win, back in September:

They are!

Thanks for the Rangipo replay. : )

Oh pleeease tell me something about Durham Town!

Here's the best bit from the article:

Quote:

“He’s had so much bad luck along the way, but he’s been ultra-consistent,” Logan said. “He’s done everything you could have dreamed for him to do, and he’s been the most wonderful horse to have around the stable.

“He’s going to have a life of luxury in his retirement now. He’ll join Zabeat, who’s still enjoying a happy retirement with us here, and we’ve actually got Sir Slick up here with us too. They’ll all spend their retirement together and have a great time.”

Such a tough win from Fully Funded in the first race today.

_ed_ 03-11-2016 06:47 PM

Palace Rock! What a finish.

_ed_ 03-11-2016 08:57 PM

Whoa, very nice G1 Diamond Stakes win by Heroic Valour. Undefeated in three starts now.

_ed_ 03-11-2016 10:58 PM

Um, wow. El Soldado?! Seriously?

That was crazy and I'm so glad that, on the replay, they left the interview with the connection(s)... really nice for them. I was like who are you even talking about haha, had not heard of him but whoa... let's hear it for the nine year olds! :D :tro:

Wonderful seeing VSB back and wow, that was some run from Girl of My Dreams. I wouldn't have known about the protest had I not read your piece... wish all the replays would go on and show the post race stuff!

Surprised and happy seeing Nine Pin win the other day at Ashburton Small field and all but good to see all the same (... and Dillinger hit the board. Hooray!)

Noms for the Oaks look phenomenal. :)

_ed_ 03-16-2016 04:27 PM

Lovely field for the Oaks, but it's a shame it's so close to the big Sydney races coming up. Our Oaks would have been even better with Capella and Valley Girl in there too!

_ed_ 03-18-2016 07:14 PM

Fantastic to see Charmont back at her best in the first race on Oaks day.
