He’s done enough. Saw nearly half his starts. A really nice career and should be an attractive stud.

He would have romped in the BC Sprint if they kept him around from one more start (assuming the horse was in decent shape). He was actually entered in the Bing Crosby at Del Mar for about 2 seconds, so they were maybe thinking along those lines.

Then he could have retired properly at the end of the year...after running 3rd at 4-5 in the Cigar Mile.

I wonder if moving the Pegasus to late December when the GP meet opens wouldn't be more fruitful in drawing a decent field every year. I'd bet a few of those above (e.g., Higher Power, War of Will) would take one final crack before retiring. Might bolster the Clark and Cigar Mile, too, with enough spacing for 2 starts post-BC.
