Now, but who will be your Derby horse next week?

Maybe the Baffert Uncle Mo who's in a maiden race at Santa Anita tomorrow. Didn't do much running 1st out, but I heard he's OK.

He doesn't like that thread because he enabled me to make a few shekels with his keen insight on second time starters which is his specialty.

Country House gets post nine in star studded Risen Star on Saturday. Henley’s Joy tries the dirt for the first time in the race too. Big full field should mean value. Country House closed well against the bias and very slow pace to win easily completing her last 5/16 in under 30 seconds....you don’t see that very often. I remember Zenyatta doing it.:)

Im going to end all bets with him and Kingly Saturday. Going to try to find prices in the races before.

Kingly is not running in the race per DRF.

Was that before or after RHT said he liked his chances?

Hopefully before.

I'm guessing Bob didn't like drawing outside in both 3YO Stakes, and perhaps the overall quality of the Rachel Alexandra, and decided to pass. Perhaps he will point for Oaklawn this coming weekend ( the Southwest is Monday )?

Kingly seemed almost like a "throwaway" entry to begin with; he ran less than 2 weeks ago and was well beaten as the favorite.

Perhaps Baffert was simply making use of shipping space while at the same time taking the opportunity to space out his 3yo colts. In addition, Santa Anita is requiring horsemen to obtain "approval" to ship out of town, so maybe he was testing the waters or playing chess with the racing office.

Not remotely sold on Country House, but 20–1 line has me puzzled? Any thoughts?

Yes, it's a bad line. He is unlikely to be over 5:1.

I remember this post. Helped put Country House on my radar. I wonder if Joe put any futures bets down on Country House.
