New job

Last April, I embarked on a year-long sabbatical designed to 1) take a breather from 25 years of hard traveling but wonderful experiences at Blistex 2) connect more deeply with family 3) assemble a stable of racing prospects and 4) find another business to build.

So at the 11-month mark, I am very happy to report that I have accepted an offer from Team Valor (one of the world's top international horse racing syndicates) to develop their international customer base in Dubai, Europe, Australia (and elsewhere). Pretty much qualifies as a dream job for me. I am very excited to get started. Feeling fresh and ready.

I have to thank my family and friends for their support during my little "walkabout". I took a wicked left turn there. But it has resulted in the opportunity of a lifetime. I plan to make the most of it.

Cheers,

Otis

Congrats! What an amazing opportunity.

Thanks for your well wishes folks!

Racing opportunities are expanding globally and Barry Irwin has always enjoyed racing internationally more than domestically. Thus, he has decided to broaden Team Valor's scope to an unprecedented level and open up to some foreign partners, while racing more horses in Europe and elsewhere.

I am very excited to help Team Valor achieve this goal.

AlabamaStakes: sorry about the allergy. You must have tried our Botox Balm. :)

Cheers,

Otis

Be safe Otis

. Say A prayer for for my 2 fellow Northeastern University alumni who passed last week in a car crash in Dubai. One of them had been badly hurt at the Boston Marathon bombing .

I read about that. My condolences. Terrible story.

Best,

Otis

Fantastic opportunity, and congratulations. Sounds like a wonderful opening with a great group.
If you're ever in Australia and would like to know 'the lay of the land' in the breeding and racing industry, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Maybe my company can develop some relationships along the way.

Cheers,
Phil

Phil:

I will definitely take you up on that! Very kind of you to offer.

As it so happens, I just bought into a Dream Ahead colt out of a More Than Ready mare in Australia. I really like my Dream Ahead: (Dream Mover) that Morco Botti trains in UK. he has won twice and with a 2nd and a 3rd in five races.

So I will be down to see him race once he hits the track.Still a 2yo. i will probably kick off Team Valor ANZ at the same time and will be sure to meet with you as part of that process.

Thanks for your kind interest in Team Valor

Cheers,

Otis

Thrilling night watching Euro Charline's electrifying stretch drive in the Dubai Turf Classic from the paddock. Although she could not get to Real Steel in time, The partners are quite pleased with the $1.2 million she earns for finishing second. Hard to find that kind of prize money outside of Dubai and the BC.

Also kudos to the gate handlers for getting her in there. As you may recall, she was scratched for refusing the gate at Royal Ascot last summer. Before tonight's race, there was a long fireworks show and we were not sure she was going to have her head right. But Frankie Dettori rode a brilliant race. Great job by Marco Botti training her up to this event.

Cheers.

Otis
