Wilko Has Nothing
Boy I always thought this horse would be decent but he just never got any better than the BC Juvy. A few clunkers here and there and he matched his big number in the World Cup last year, but now it looks like he doesn't even want to run anymore.
Just disinterested. To the shed. |
agree Rand...didn't look very impressive at all...nor that interested in running.

although...really thinking about it...the winner looked awfully good. I think Wilko would have to have been fully cranked to get to him today....maybe this was a prep for something bigger down the road? |

That was a grass race prep for a T2D start in the Big Cap.. Whenever you think he's got nothing, he hits the board at a nice price.

I would think that by now you might just want to convince them that you're not a monk:D a little healthy competition between nieghbors is normal:eek: |
He was never very good on the turf -- what was he before the BC, maybe 1 or 2 for 13 or something like that?
I haven't seen the race, but I wasn't too worried about him today anyway, didn't love the grass idea for wagering anyway. |
Nobody in the history of gambling has lost more money on any one horse as I have lost on Wilco. I refuse to even spell his name like he wanted it to be spelled. I will honor and respect the band more than the horse, therefore everybody needs to spell it like the band, Wilco. Anybody who doesnt do so will be banned.

like I told you...if SHE can convince some dope into that...she has my respect:o |
well, not so hot finishes on turf translated into some nice races for perfect drift...wilco earned some money last year, unless he's absolutely hitting the breaks, i don't see a need to retire him just yet.

watch him go off at double digits his next start and win by a mile...lol
|
Are you sure you guys watched the race today? He finshed trying, needed it bad, and ran solid. He will move forward off this and have a good year if they can keep him sound.

I have a sneaking suspicion that if we had a 4 horse race with Wilko, Funny Cide, Evening Attire, and Perfect Drift, they'd all find a way to dead heat for second. I love rooting for them though. If he won the Santa Anita Handicap I'd be ecstatic for his lil hard tryin' self. |
I always liked him, though I never thought he was really a G1 talent. He was a joy to watch when you knew he wasn't the best, yet tried to run as hard as he could. The lack of interest today is very alarming.
|
His run in Dubai last year was what he is capable of when he feels good. He can be a very nice horse if he stays healthy. Horse carries a lot of class.
|
Come to think of it they said he had foot issues right? Maybe there was a case of the 'ow'ies today. How firm was that turf?
|
It was a case of a long layoff. He had chips removed, he had the intestine surgery, I mean this horse has had pleanty of excuses. Im looking forward to the old Wilko showing up a few times this year.

He will in the bigcap, also his surface of choice isnt turf. Hes as good as anything that will be in the bigcap when hes right, better
