So bootleg, I am going first week in March I think

I believe that I'll be at GP for the Sunshine Millions as well. I hope to meet some of you all down there... :cool:

horse shows and riding for me until after my last show in February. I had to take two weeks off for aggravating my herniated disc in my back. I rode for the first time on Saturday and it was wonderful!

I hope to meet some of you though at Fla Derby.

Looks like GPK might be joining me too! :D

We're going to Tampa Bay Downs on the 26th (anyone going to be there?) and then down to GP for Saturday. :cool:

if noone hears anything from me by the 31st of Jan...call the authorities:eek:

HAHA!!! I was quite the linebacker this weekend too... I'm bruised all over from tackling a fellow Michigan fan. :D I should be good and recovered by then for round two, Kev... WATCH OUT! :eek:

I might be there... the appeal of leaving MN in our butt-ass'd cold winter sounds really appealing. I have Fri-Sat-Sun off, so it would definately be a fun one. It'll be a last-minute booking if I decide to go, so I'll let y'all know when the time comes.

I got f'n smoked at Keeneland this past weekend, but that place is as beautiful as I remembered it, so no regrets. It would be interesting to see how the "new" Gulfstream looks as well... hopefully the addition of some winners as well hehe. Lata

I usually roll in on Fridays for the Pick 4 (races 7-10) and a few cold ones.

What's the closest airport to Gulfstream?

How difficult is it to get around the area without any contacts or a car, etc?

I've been waiting for an excuse to get to Gulfstream....

It is not that far from Ft Laurdale Airport.

Miami Int..20 min or so.
Palm Beach Int...30-40 min.

thanks to cajun's unflinching desire to spend over two hours in a car with me, and then spend two more consecutive days with me toting me all over the great state of florida -- i am a good airfare away from coming!

I travel from Ft Lauderdale to either Chicago or Detroit at least 1x a month.

I've been using Spirit Airlines almost exclusively the past six months.

I would expect that you can get round trip, non-stop for $150-$200 from either city into Ft. Lauderdale using Spirit.

thanks. yea i've been looking at spirit as an option -- i'm just waiting to make sure i get my days off before i book. then it should be a done deal, because northwest (i believe) is also offering fares to orlando RT for under $130 right now, because that's where Cajun will pick me up.

i, for some reason, sense a huge disaster occurring the evening of saturday the 27th of January somewhere near Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

the best part, is that in all of these incredibly well laid plans, there is still the whole part about actually GOING TO THE RACES!

it's official. flying through charlotte on the way there and DC on the way back, but I got an airplane ticket to Orlando and back.

Which means my involvement with the Gulfstream party rests solely in Cajungator's hands now!

does anyone know if it will be difficult to get in that Saturday? Is it typical admission? Or do you need to know someone?
