Dixie, my friend, excellent to see you here.

Thank you for these what I'm sure are fine selections and if nothing else I am sure we can make fun of them later. Unfortunately I have not looked at much today, most of Aqueduct, and a few stakes around the country.

I believe that Reverberate will be very tough in the feature at Aqueduct, though I doubt at much price, and I will try to at least sneak Bridge Game into the exacta, with a little win bet, in the feature at Churchill.

Best of luck. Big day planned? Be certain to fill us in with the details later.....celebs I hope.

SniperSB23 11-18-2006 11:44 AM

Anyone know if the Sopranos guys are at Aqueduct today? That could be the difference between Carminooch being 5/2 or 3/5.

blackthroatedwind 11-18-2006 11:46 AM

I doubt they bet that kind of money.

I can't imagine Reverberate won't be favored. His races are simply better than these.

Someone did last time or it was just absolutely terrible morning lines. He was higher than Organizer on the morning line and went off at like 1/6th of the odds in the end.

I'd be much more apt to take Carminooch than Reverberate in here.

Too busy spending money on hookers and coke.
Friend worked on the set, said Gandolfini was basically comatose everyday from the night before. Generally high on something every day. Makes his performances look even better.

They seem like good guys. I sat by a lot of them at Belmont on a number of occasions and they were incredibly gracious and generous with their time. I have talked to Michael Imperioli quite a bit and he seems like a great guy. I also have a good friend who had a reasonable role last season and she loved working with them.

How great was Gandolfini in " Get Shorty "?

Lots of people who "party" are good guys. I have some friends who do that stuff and they have some serious jobs. Comes with the territory. I have never smoked a cigarette in my life. Gambling's my vice. And gin.

randallscott35 11-18-2006 01:06 PM

I did not like Get Shorty.

Really. I loved it. Not a great movie, per se, but I thought it was lots of fun.

Loved Get Shorty
The shylock wants to get into pictures. I LMAO on that movie.

On the other hand, they did a lame follow-up called Be Cool, one of the most hideous things ever put on film.

blackthroatedwind 11-18-2006 01:17 PM

Be Cool was a disgrace....both the book and movie.

ArlJim78 11-18-2006 02:08 PM

I love the bones barboni guy...

Barboni - Let me explain something to you. Momo is dead. Which means that everything he had now belongs to Jimmy Cap, including you. Which also means, that when I speak, I speak for Jimmy. E.g., from now on, you start showing me the proper f**king respect.

Chili Palmer - "E.g." means "for example". What I think you want to say is "I.e.".

Barboni - Bullsh!t! That's short for "ergo".

Chili Palmer - Ask your man

Bodyguard - To the best of my knowledge, "e.g." means "for example".

Barboni - E.g., i.e., f**k you! The point is this: is that, When I say "jump", you say "OK", okay?

Imagine. If they just throw $10,000 a piece on the horse to win it is going to have a serious effect on the win pool.

Good flick. Travolta was riding high after Pulp Fiction.

Momo's heart attack at his surprise party? Priceless

Race is kinda tough.

I expect you'll me all over me bright and early.

Well lets see, Saint Anddan finished third as the 2:1 favorite.

Tiger On The Loose was mercifully scratched at Hollywood.

Does this mean another Bently will have to be sold off?

You're way over your head here. Now "go get your shine box".

You started this thread by saying you'll make two bets today. One lost, the other was scratched.

Then miraculously you salvaged the day by stating after the fact that you made some big bundle on the Kitten horse. How convenient and laughable.

I had every number but the powerball tonight. Oh well i'll take $400k

Livin the dream.

BTW, USC MADE the day............

I expect that if you get hit in the head enough times you'll eventually put on a helmet. Don't trip on your way to KMart.

I hope Dallas and Green Bay don't spoil your weekend.

There were always, and are still today, CREEPS like you that are tortured by other's success. Mike is very good on this subject.

This post soars to new heights in terms of making the most off-topic cryptic references.

blackthroatedwind 11-19-2006 11:51 AM

You guys just don't understand how to read the great Dixie. See, when I referenced to him the other night that Precious Kitten was running first time for Frankel yesterday, it was an obvious signal, and when he ignored it he was very clearly giving me the proverbial wink. Anyone even remotely versed in the " signals of internet touting " knew instantly that Precious Kitten was the tap out play and the other two " selections " were nothing but a smokescreen, with the scratch of one of them a mere gift to those who foolishly didn't understand the " play ".

As far as USC...come on guys. Dixie is in California, don't ya know, and giving out a SCRATCH was merely further code, you know, SCRATCH obviously equates to SC and combined with Dixie's California residence only the most uneducated of code readers would fail to see selection.

It's all there for all to see. Just open your eyes. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go get my shine box to make up for my horrible selections at the Big A yesterday. By the time Dixie's locks rolled around I was long broke.

Are you sure you should be giving all this inside information away?

OHHH! I get it now. Many thanks for sheding light on the vagaries of this world of "inside plays". I have much to learn and really need to open my eyes to this stuff or else I will never be able to retire my shine box.

I saw Michael Imperioli on a YES Network interview show about a month ago. He is a very accomplished individual; he even founded a repertory company in Connecticut with the help of his wife. He is from Westchester County. and is about forty-years-old. He is a devoted Yankee fan; we have that in common. He talked about his father taking him to Mickey Mantle's retirement day. I enjoy The Sopranos and can identify with some of it, since I was born and raised in New Jersey, where I still live. My best friend growing up lived across the street from the restaurant seen on the show. It is all suburban Newark. I never miss the show and get a kick out of people who think New Jersey is just overrun with mob criminals. My husband who is Italian-American laughs at the stereotyping that some take away from the show. The actors are so far from what they play.:)

blackthroatedwind 11-19-2006 01:04 PM

Anybody who likes movies, or independant movies, has been a fan of Michael Imperioli's since long before the Sopranos. He was great in " Sweet Nothings " and he's also very good in " Household Saints " which is a terrific movie. IMO he and Edie Falco are far and away the best actors on that show.

2MinsToPost 11-19-2006 01:23 PM

I loved the 1st and 2nd seasons on The Soprano's. Downhill ever since, and the season this year, I quit watching.
