The Sprint

Can Bordonaro run them off their feet today? Or will the speed horses set it up for closers like Siren Lure and Nightmare Affair?

sumitas 11-04-2006 01:06 PM

take HH and play some long shots underneath.

IrishofNDMan 11-04-2006 01:08 PM

Too Much Bling!!!!!

Balletto 11-04-2006 01:08 PM

I have Malibu Mint over Henny Hughes and Nightmare Affair. I think there's a lot of cheap speed in there and in my eyes, these are the class.

With my results so far today... bank on Henny Hughes to win!

DerbyCat 11-04-2006 01:10 PM

I know that longshots have a history of winning this race so I'm trying to find a horse to beat HH... Thor's Echo? Pomeroy? I'm having a tough time trying to find one that beats Henny... any help or advice?

Otherwise, I'll probably do a HH/TE,P exacta

Downthestretch55 11-04-2006 01:15 PM

Henny H/Too Much Bling

IrishofNDMan 11-04-2006 01:15 PM

dount count Too Much Bling out, I think he will run a huge race!

Danzig 11-04-2006 01:15 PM

pomeroy is a legit choice here. altho i would like to see malibu pull it off, i don't like the post.
maybe play too much bling underneath. garret knows how to finish in the money so far today.

Longshots win when the 'name' horses are all front-running speed and kill each other off; then a 7-8f sort like Dancing Spree runs past them all to pay boxcars.

Balletto 11-04-2006 01:18 PM

I sort of like Pomeroy as well. Wouldnt it be something though if Lewis Michael pulled it off? It would have to be the only time a mare has produced two Breeders' Cup winners. Justenuffheart would be a shoo-in for Broodmare of the Year. Its unlikely, but it would be amazing.

Danzig 11-04-2006 01:19 PM

also, i would DEFINITELY play on war front. a good horse, his sire has been one of the best at producing bc winners, and he's trained by the giant killer. war front has had some good races this year, do not ignore him...

Downthestretch55 11-04-2006 01:20 PM

I'm also doing a w-p-s on War Front...watch out!

good thinking and good luck

Balletto 11-04-2006 01:20 PM

Siren Lure is the one who makes me nervous.

SIngled HH on my 'cheap/favorites' Pick 6 ticket ($4) but picked against him in PH with closer Siren Lure.

I love the way that War Front looks and carries himself. I think he is a nice, ****y colt with a great shot today as well.

Banks Hill and Intercontinental both won the BC Filly and Mare Turf for their dam, Hasili..........

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like HH, Bordonaro and TMB all like the lead... so will they kill each other off leaving Pomoroy, War Front and ??? to take it? If someone can fill in the ??? we should have a nice tri

Pedigree Ann 11-04-2006 01:31 PM

I'm not sure that HH and TMB are as fast as Bordonaro early. Bordy shaded 44 for the half and kept on last out. Track was fast, but his fractions were astounding even that day.

Tri:
HH /WF
HH/WF/TMB
WF/TMB

Not on the same card though... which is my point. The odds are almost impossible!

1st_Saturday_in_May 11-04-2006 01:40 PM

Wow...Thors ****ing Echo blah

Balletto 11-04-2006 01:40 PM

Wow, good showing from Thor's Echo. I was way off in this race!

SCUDSBROTHER 11-04-2006 01:40 PM

Yea Scud is crazy huh? Another 1 horse. How long before ya figure this out ?

IrishofNDMan 11-04-2006 01:41 PM

I think most people on here were way off in this race, although I did put Thor's echo in 2nd if that gets me any consolation prize lol.

It gets you more than me. WTF did Malubi Mint finish? I doont even think her name was called during the whole race.

Downthestretch55 11-04-2006 01:42 PM

I also missed big on this one. Henny got beat at the gate.
Nice run by Thors Echo..not a rail job.

Balletto 11-04-2006 01:43 PM

Well I did have Nightmare Affair in the 3rd spot. At least that came through.

Anyone want to lay money that HH will be retired???

SCUDSBROTHER 11-04-2006 01:44 PM

Oh I know the track is f'd up.I put the 2 favorites on top of the 1,and 2 horses. The 1,and 2 horses came in together.I wasn't quite crazy enough.

IrishofNDMan 11-04-2006 01:44 PM

what about Too Much Bling, I can't believe I backed this horse!

1st_Saturday_in_May 11-04-2006 01:45 PM

Yeah Bling didnt even have his name called I dont think

Danzig 11-04-2006 01:46 PM

yeah, scuds...earlier i checked to see who had the one hole here, as well as the other dirt races....

who would have imagined henny would be that far back at the end??

another second for pletcher, a nice payday for him--albeit frustrating. can't wait to se the tri payoff here tho!
