BC DISTAFF: Pre Entrants

These are the possible and likely Distaff entrants based on assembled wire reports...

1. Asi Siempre (Biancone/Leparoux)

2. Baghdaria (Amoss/Bejarano)

3. Balletto (Albertrani/Nakatani)

4. Bushfire (Kenneally/CVelasquez)

5. Fleet Indian (Pletcher/Santos)

6. Happy Ticket (Leggio/Gomez)

7. Healthy Addiction (Sadler/VEspinoza)

8. Hollywood Story (Shirreffs/Flores)

9. Lemons Forever (Stewart/Guidry)

10. Pine Island (McGaughey/Castellano)

11. Pool Land (Pletcher/JVelasquez)

12. Round Pond (Matz/Prado)

13. Sharp Lisa (O'Neill/?)

14. Spun Sugar (Pletcher/Luzzi)

15. Summerly (Blasi/Bridgmohan)

Buffymommy 10-24-2006 12:20 PM

Poor Summerly. May not even get to run in her last race... :(

eurobounce 10-24-2006 12:22 PM

What an interesting race. Good speed, good stalkers and good closers. Tons of appeal here. Going to get some good value as well. Oracle worse dream could come true is Asi wins this race.

blackthroatedwind 10-24-2006 12:22 PM

It would be " poor Summerly " if she actually gets in.

It is beyond ridiculous that she is even being considered for this race. If they want to run her once more why not pick out a spot where she has at least a chance to get a piece of the purse.

slotdirt 10-24-2006 12:23 PM

Asi Siempre is the definition of toss here.

She wouldn't be my pick either. :) Not sure who I will end up going with but I know it wouldn't be her.

Scav 10-24-2006 12:25 PM

My boy Steve is not messing around. love that you are GIVING THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT

blackthroatedwind 10-24-2006 12:26 PM

The perverse thinking of the connections, of course, is " well, we're selling her right after the race, so let's take a needle in a haystack type shot at increasing her value, and we certainly can't risk lowering her value by running her in a nothing race where she will also lose ".

Meanwhile then the best interests of the horse would be served by simply running her nowhere.

tycharles01 10-24-2006 12:30 PM

Damn whats this a sprint race too. Speed all over this race, looks like the Oaks 2

Lemons Forever??? Balletto???

Buffymommy 10-24-2006 12:31 PM

Setting it up for a closer...

Too bad Teammate and Take D Tour didn't enter. That would have made it even more of a mess. I like Pine Island/Balletto/Spun Sugar.

Balletto 10-24-2006 01:02 PM

Balletto over Healthy Addiction and Pine Island.

Scav 10-24-2006 01:05 PM

Most likely singling Happy Ticket here, probably box her as a back up with the ultimate hanger

paisjpq 10-24-2006 01:10 PM

i'll probably change my mind a hundred times before the race...esp. since we don't have post positions...pine/round/balletto for now

kgar311 10-24-2006 01:45 PM

How can you single anyone out in this race???

smuthg 10-24-2006 01:58 PM

Happy Ticket

I thought it was already set that G. Gomez was riding Happy (to victory in the distaff)

brianwspencer 10-24-2006 02:22 PM

happy ticket is going to be the biggest overlay of her life in here, and i for one cannot wait.

Cajungator26 10-24-2006 02:41 PM

Happy Ticket, baby! :D

Balletto 10-24-2006 02:45 PM

Happy Ticket is as game and honest as they come but I just dont see her winning this race.

Because I can....HUGE KAHONNAS my friend....I won't really be focusing on this race too much. The last pick three with the Classic as my anchor is where I am focusing most of my funds......

Balletto 10-24-2006 02:52 PM

I hope you mean cojones... otherwise I have NO idea what you're so proud of. :D

pmayjr 10-24-2006 02:55 PM

Don't Overlook Lemons Forever. She'll be coming late, she got the Guid, and she's won at Churchill. I'm hoping to get decent odds on her.

You guys are right thought, this race is wide open.

Do you think there will be enough pace for her? Also, can a blind squirrel find a nut more than once?

J/K... :D

decent? you're going to get incredible odds on her, as she hasn't even come close to beating 3 year olds since the oaks -- so there won't be many out there willing to believe that somehow she's going to be able to take down the best older horses of the division.

i wish you all the luck in the world with this one! (people will be saying the same thing about me and malibu mint in the coming days too i'm sure!)

Don't you all go jumping on my Malibu Mint bandwagon now... I have been hyping this horse for a long time now! You all are just starting to listen to Buffy.

i just haven't been around -- i've been making big bucks on her for awhile now :)

i don't have the sentimental attachment to her that it seems like you do, so you can have that -- but she's one of my sure things to follow wherever she goes -- she's a good ROI horse.

though i wish she had lost to hide and chic at keeneland, would've boosted my pick-3s a lot :) see, no sentimental attachment.

I was just teasing you! I had a friend who worked with her and I saw her at the barn and I liked her. Saw she was racing a few days later and used her in a contest for the board. NICE payout. She helped me win. I get excited about watching her race because I got to pet her nose once. :)

Hey, I am a girl what can I say.

ok maybe i lied a little bit too -- it might be slightly sentimental :)

she's a fighter and she's a grinder, and i love that. she's not flashy, but she gets the job done the same way every time she goes out. that's admirable.

And to think I got very upset in the race where she lost her rider at the start, all because I had used her in another contest on the board. I was mad.

But I still root for her.

Hickory Hill Hoff 10-24-2006 06:48 PM

early pks: PINE ISLAND / BALLETTO / LEMONS FOREVER

Salicon 10-24-2006 06:56 PM

Pine Island.

Coach Pants 10-24-2006 06:57 PM

errrghgugh

Healthy Addiction. Maybe.

NoCarolinaTony 10-24-2006 10:00 PM

Every time I'll see the horse now I'm thinking of that beautiful Girl now.

Happy Ticket and Balleto in an exacta

NC Tony

dalakhani 10-24-2006 10:47 PM

I'll take the horse that doesnt lose. Give me Fleet Indian in here.

Charismatic1 10-25-2006 04:39 AM

Wasn't Island Fashion being pointed for the Distaff as her swan song? I thought I read Canani say she was going to train up to the race.
