PolyTrack--The savior of racing

.................

sumitas 10-19-2006 05:15 PM

fans want safe conditions so horses don't break down and jockeys go flying all over the place...on dirt most fans cringe during the race just hoping another horrific spill doesn't happen.

Thats funny, because I've never run across that. Most are just rooting for their horse to win.
You must hang with SOME crowd.

Note to self Zieg,
Don't watch races with Sumitas and the crowd that cringes during every race.

sumitas 10-19-2006 05:19 PM

face it , you guys are out of touch with mainstream fans and the very casual fan who immediately think of breakdowns when you mention horse racing...

oracle80 10-19-2006 05:19 PM

Lets see who can name the Empire Group shill on this thread.
Imagine how upset they are gonna be when they don't get the franchise.

writing it down......

From a fan perspective and not a gambler or a breeder perspective, I honestly think that PolyTrack racing is more exciting than dirt racing. Dirt racing a horse goes wire to wire or a closer comes up and blows by everyone. There arent that many lead changes and the race is basically boring. On POlyTrack, the races are so unpredictable it isnt even funny. There are several lead changes and at the top of the stretch any horse can win.

No see, thats the point, YOU ARE!!
Anyone on this board ever been to the track with someone who is cringing every time a race goes off at Belmont?
You have to be kidding me right?

hmmmm. interesting. everyone i ever mention racing to brings up horses they've heard of, or tracks they've been to. haven't had anyone yet mention breakdowns.
you must hang out with some very negative and depressed people.

i don't think acknowledging breakdowns is negative.

I'm picturing this outpatient group from a manic depression/bi polar treatment center on a field trip to the track Zieg. Kinda like this "Watch out!!! Those hot dogs contain rodent parts!!!" "watch out!!! that money has been handled by thousands of people and carries dangerous germs!!!" "Watch out!!! Those horses are all gonna fall and die!!!!"
Sounds like a real hoot.

no, it's not
but to say most people watch every race with their hands over their eyes for most of it while waiting for tragedy is way off the mark...if you and your fellow racegoers do that every race like you suggested, well i don't know what to say to that!

no, they'd never make it to the track in the first place, cause cars are dangerous. why i bet every driver is drunk...or the crowd is scaaary, germs, bacteria, there might be a storm.
how could anyone work up the nerve to talk to a teller to place a bet--it's a TOTAL STRANGER and all strangers are BAD. probably all child molesters.

yeah, that's it. let's all live in fear, waiting for something bad to happen. eventually, you'd be right!

I'm kinda guessing that Sumitas may suffer from OCD. I don't think thats really going out on a limb though.

Somehow this thread got a 5-star rating....it must be because Steve is an advocate of Polytrack :D
