Yo Yo Yo

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Just got back in from some travels.
Henny was ****ing awesome, and I hope he wins the BC sprint. hes that good. Silver Train is done, but I'm not quite sure that even had he not suffered a problem that he was gonna beat that monster.
Bern was good, but again the time was slow for the surface and he beat noone again. Guess we will see in the Cup huh?
English was also good but had a phony pace setup and while I think he clinched an Eclipse award, I don't think he can contend on Cup Day.
Fleet Indian was great, but I think Balletto has turned into a bridesmaid for life. She was goofing when she had a chance to go by, and simply refused.

Lava Man is starting to really grab my heart, the damn horse is like a machine, and I will be rooting for him on Cup Day. hes simply too good not to root for, and will be a fitting David to bern's Goliath.
Agadorn may be the one of the best milers I've seen in the US in years. Hes the goods.
Poly's still a joke!!! Siempre wins a race where Happy and Spun miss the board and CQ loses on it. Its brown stuff that kinda resembles turf. Its related to dirt in no way, shape, or form.
Other than that I found a great prospect and am working on a good deal. It eases the pain of the Yanks picking the wrong week to go on a bad streak. At least Arod is gone.
The best news is that i owe Nostra lunch, which means to collect he has to reveal himself. I'm very much looking forward to that!!!:)

Root for a real team Mike in the Mets. Not a bunch of spoiled individuals like the Yanks.

Revolution 10-08-2006 05:58 PM

poly should be good for the turf sires, but asi siempre beating two mares that are not that good is not an indication of anything. the horse that beat circular quay may just be better.

He definitely is the one to beat in the Sprint. Ultra impressive. Can only imagine how good he looked in person.

Glad i'm not the only one who isn't going crazy over his run.

What a ride by Johnny V., eh?

Yeah looks like she's a follower and not a leader.

Couldn't agree more and I definitely wasn't a fan of his until yesterday. His burst of speed before the turn sold me.

Yeah and he isn't talked about much on here. An absolute freak.

I'm pretty worried about Round Pond. Didn't look too hot down the stretch. Hope it's just a fitness issue.

Revolution 10-08-2006 06:22 PM

you guys might want to get his name correct. it is aragorn and he is from ballygallon stud of ireland. the top 2 milers in the world are both bred in ireland.

bernardini's time was not slow. it was the fastest beyer (117) of any horse all year and he did it in hand.

english channel wrapped up an eclipse? in what? tin man, cacique and aragorn are all in the running. aragorn is your leader and tin man is second right now.

Gander 10-09-2006 08:07 AM

Mike- Please help me understand how this clinched an eclipse for EC. What about Cacique? What if he wins the BC Turf. That would be his 3rd grade 1 win of the year, equalling EC's 3 grade 1 wins and is the most important turf race. Clearly that race on Saturday was the weakest running of that race in quite some time. I wasnt impressed at all.

3 grade one wins Tim, and they tend to vote for the routers over the milers if given any choice.

oracle80 10-09-2006 09:00 AM

And I'm also conceding the BC to the Euros.
I should have stated that its my opinion that things will play out from here and he will end up with the award. he hasn't clinched anything yet, its just my opinion that things will play out that way in the end.

zippyneedsawin 10-09-2006 09:10 AM

I don't know. If Cacique wins the BC Turf, I think he gets the nod... and.. aren't his two G1 wins this year a little farther than 8 furlongs??

I think its obvious that if either the Tin man, EC, or cacique win the BC Turf, that its a done deal.
But I'm really thinking a Euro beats them. CD is a very kind place for Euros to run, especially the climate.

GPK 10-09-2006 09:18 AM

The 11th Commandment

Thou shalt talk of no other horse except English Channel when debating eclipse awards for turf:D :D

Good point... I'm thinking that's the most likely scenario... a Euro win in the BC leaving EC the best choice for the Eclipse.

Well I am not so sure about this. In 2000 War Chat and Perfect Sting won. Kalanisi won the Turf. In 1998 Bucks Boy won the Turf Classic, Da Hoss won the Mile. They didnt have the Filly and Mare Turf in 1998. So in the last two BC runnings at Churchill only 1 European won a turf race.

Shh, Kev! He called my girl "bridesmaid for life" and someone followed it up with "follower not a leader"! Take the lukewarm reception to EC and run with it... im still licking my wounds... anyone else want to join in?

Gander 10-09-2006 09:24 AM

True. If a euro does win the BC Turf, then EC Channel wins the Eclipse with the 3 grade 1 wins. But if Cacique or Tin Man wins the BC Turf, they get the Eclipse. That would give Tin Man 2 grade 1's and those 2 are by far the 2 most important and best fields- Arlington Million and BC Turf.

Oracle:

Welcome back. Sorry about the Yankees deciding not to go all out once again in the Playoffs. Good to see my Mets finally in some meanigful games. Both teams definitely are short on pitchers. Should be an interesting off season as always for the Yanks.

Saw that Lansdon had a MSW winner at Oak Tree on Saturday. Congrats. Didn't know he was racing out here. Looks like his horse today at Bel in the first should win once again.

Good Luck in securing that prospect - you seem excited about it.

My filly, Taconic Zip is being shipped from the farm to Saratoga today or tomorrow to train up there until the Oklahoma track closes on Nov. 11th. She will then be shipped immediately thereafter to Carlos. My trainer at the farm Heather Larson has taken out 10 stalls - says she is right next to the Frankel barn wherever that might be. Taconic Zip is scheduled to breeze 3F on the Oklahoma track by the end of this week. If you get a chance and can watch her let me know. I will get details on the date and time of her first published workout.

Take care,

PSH
