Masters 2014

Who wins?

I have Stenny breaking out of his 2014 funk in a BIG way!

Let's have it!

doubtful. he's all over the place.
Jason Day, Matt Kuchar should be on the leader board.

if anyone has a real stab 30-1 or more, and a good reason, I'll throw a c-note on him.

herkhorse 04-09-2014 06:37 AM

Harris English 40-1

jms62 04-09-2014 06:51 AM

Spieth 33/1 Cabrera @50-1 is intriguing.

ateamstupid 04-09-2014 11:13 AM

Sneds 25-1

casp0555 04-09-2014 11:52 AM

Sergio Garcia  maybe

GPK 04-09-2014 11:57 PM

Hideki Matsuyama @80-1 is a must bet IMO. He's a very legit threat in majors, as he proved last year. Fearless, tons of talent and is being vastly overlooked.

Manassero @150-1 and Bjorn @200-1 intrigue me too.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sergio plays well this week.

My pick is Jimmy Walker.

declansharbor 04-10-2014 12:09 PM

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...htmlview?pli=1

$40 entry
$540 to entry who selects winning golfer
$420 to best combined duo (both golfers must make cut)

Figured i'd post it here for people to scratch their head over a few of these picks. I have ZERO idea how Sneds fell to my pops with the 26th pick.

I run this for all major tournaments. Keeps it interesting (not that these wkends need any help)!

MinnSkinny 04-10-2014 06:31 PM

I honestly could not pick a winner at this point with a 2 day head start. Was there Tuesday and the place was "Billy Payne Perfect" even after the rainout.
No Tiger tilted the books.....but still think Jason Day is right there Sunday....
My hunch is 17, without Ike's tree, plays into the finish big time....
Sadly, my friend Mike McCoy shot 78 today. Hope he gets it going and makes the cut tomorrow.
Hopefully we all enjoy this once a year spectacle!

missed cut, so did self proclaimed top 5 in the world Patrick Reed.

Hard not to like 20 year old Jordan Spieth

Alabama Stakes 04-12-2014 12:22 AM

patrick Reed looked like he was gonna snap after his putt hit a piece of sand on 16 left on the green from someones bunker shot.

Took a little Speith at 26-1 jms 62. also $42 -$1304 on Jimmy Walker someone out here was likin him a little, and he was hitting the ball DYNO mite. The other guy i took Keegan shot 80 and is out, but at least i got action.

fred couples is a star

Matsuyama flopped, as did Manassero. Bjorn clearly in the mix going into the weekend.

Trivia question.
The infamous Raes Creek borders 4 golf holes. Which ones are they?

GPK 04-12-2014 06:32 AM

The more I watch Adam Scott swing, the more I miss when Tiger used to swing like that.

You got 3 of the 4. #15 is wrong.

herkhorse 04-12-2014 08:06 AM

OK so now I googled it and still couldn't come up with 4 holes.

You gotta think outside of the box.

The 8th @ Augusta Country Club:D which is a half wedge and a million miles from the 11th green at Augusta National.

Yes, I deleted my post because I was being a little hard on Tom after I read it was on a different course.

Somebody needs to be hard on him.

GPK 04-12-2014 05:41 PM

If Bjorn could putt...

ateamstupid 04-12-2014 05:58 PM

Will be interesting to see how Spieth handles himself tomorrow. He's a pretty composed dude, but I imagine being in the final pairing on Sunday at The Masters could rattle anyone, much less a 20YO playing the tournament for the first time.

I could see him pulling it off. Imo, I think Bubba has no shot. He's 1 bad break from a complete meltdown. Anyone level par or better is still in it.

declansharbor 04-12-2014 07:39 PM

Got 8-1 from my buddy on Kuchar & J Rose last night for $50 each.

Kuch plays tomorrow like he did today and i should be a winner. Not that it EVER works like that.

Completely sh!t the bed by choosing Charl & Delaet as my two golfers in the draft that I run. Ewww.

GPK 04-13-2014 08:52 AM

I have to confess I would love to see The Mechanic win today. How cool would that be?

I wonder what he did last night. He's got extra weight to carry with me on his back. Do you think Watson will try to get in his head ? or vice versa ? Can a 20 year old kid not rattle ?

Will this be the joy of Trevor Immelman ? or the Kenny Perry puker ? I can't bear to watch it. I think I'm gonna work and listen on the radio.

And I'm just the opposite. I'm as excited to watch this Masters as any in quite a while. Kinda wish I had put a few on Bjorn at 200-1. That would be some juice watching that today. Quite a few good guys up there today and wouldn't have a problem with most any of them slipping on the green jacket today. Bubba would probably be the last choice I would prefer.

Alabama Stakes 04-13-2014 11:22 AM

it's a little different with $2600 if your guy wins. I have no hedge either. it's all or nothing. Every 17 years the youngest player ever wins the Masters, from Jack Nicholson , to Ave Maria Olazabel, to Tiger Woodpecker. it's 17 years since then. :)

I got no dog in this fight. I'll root for ya.

GPK 04-13-2014 02:57 PM

This kid has brass f*cking balls, man. I love it.

MinnSkinny 04-13-2014 04:49 PM

He plays like he's been out there 10 years. Love this kid too. He's got stones....

GPK 04-13-2014 04:53 PM

Just like when Tiger won in 1997, bubba is playing a completely different golf course then the rest of the field.
