Maines did anything but disappear. She was instrumental in the resolution of a miscarriage of justice for the West Memphis Three a few years back, and appears in the film about that, "West of Memphis." Great film. by the way.

and people still demand the death penalty, to be carried out immediately at that! if they had their way.

The Chicks disappeared within a month from radio music stations and didn't show up on any tv shows...the word spread fast..Natalie was my fav...I'll check out the film you mention, netflix will probably have it...

And again, highly recommend Shut Up and Sing. It was a documentary being shot about their tour than happened to coincide with Maines' infamous comment, so the documentary shifted focus.

The same guy proved his financial acumen when he used taxpayer money to purposely destroy used vehicles as an incentive to purchase new ones leaving the taxpayer out of their cash and perspective used car buyers with inflated prices. One of those rare lose-lose situations. The credit card/check book should have been taken away then, trillions ago.

The episode when the gay pet photographer comes to take pictures of Miss Kay, Phil and the dogs is one of DD's best especially when Phil shoots and kills a squirrel and the photog is confused where the blood comes from. Or when the photog has Miss Kay waving at imaginary people and Phil can't understand why she's waving to no one.

oh, it's allowed in that people can say what they wish. and other people can say what they wish in return. and networks can decide it's in their best interest to part ways when someone exercises their right to speak, and what they have to say could cause the network issues.
like a slate headline said, you don't have a constitutional right to a t.v. show.
