this team has enough raw talent to be competitive in the division, now I'm not certain that they will even beat Jacksonville.

Yeah, what a shame. Of course shelling out 19 mil for a cornerback when you had your mind made up last spring that Freeman wasn't your guy at QB is even more of a charlie foxtrot. The Glazers have never made a move mid season, and I don't expect them to now. This bye week could not have come at a worse time for both Mark Dominic and Greg Schiano.

This kind of stuff is coming out daily, and with another week and a half to go, its likely to boil over at some point.

Bigs used to preach that the biggest problem the team has is it's owners.

The door just met Freeman's a$$.

Who knows, maybe Schiano can schedule the Bucs to play the likes of Coastal Carolina and Howard for a few weeks and try to get the train back on the tracks.

They were completely overextended by purchasing Man U. This year seemed very different. Freeman actually looked good for all of 3 or 4 games last year (the last 2 were atrocious) and the ownership dedicated money they typically have not spent this year as they, again, look to have the right pieces in place to show up well.

They announced last week that "They anticipated 85% of the tickets will be sold for the balance of the season, so they lifted the local blackout rule".

They are going to spend millions more buying up all the empty seats.

There will be heads rolling.

But that's what so many of these college guys don't get. Grown men will not be pushed around. These guys can only abuse college kids because they don't know any better. And that is wrong.

Rutgers was abysmal in an abysmal conference. Save West Virginia, there was nothing left in the conference when he was there. After his first season (where he went 2-11) Miami and Va Tech left. he amassed an eye popping record of 28-48 at Rutgers against Big East opponents.

Perhaps he was anticipating the Pro's would be easier than Rutgers, cuz he did absolutely nothing there either.

They called all 31 teams and no interest was there so they cut him.

There's always the CFL!

Ouch. add another 6 million to the pile of wasted cash this year.

Freeman needed to go

he'll be on an nfl team. green bay needs a legit back up. jacksonville needs a starter. he'll land somewhere now that it costs the new team nothing other than whatever contact they sign. it's a good day to be josh freeman. he gets paid by tampa bay and his new team.

the guy broke no laws. whatever character issues may be there i'm sure his new team will convince itself they can fix

i have a hard time understanding why tampa handled this the way they did. they shot themselves in the head when it came to getting any value for freeman. very strange situation.

If you look at the numbers he put up when he was playing very well, it seems he is very capable and just needs the right situation...ie..anywhere other than Tampa. I think he'll be starting by end of this year or next for sure.

The fact that someone in the organization leaked Freeman's voluntary cooperation in the substance abuse program (has a prescription for Adderall) is so far over the line it's hard to fathom.
The team is fuc1<ed. Owners trying to get the NFLPA to buy in on HgH testing, and this comes out? I would not be surprised if the team get fined HUGE.

I'd to know what the odds on whether Schiano is the coach by the next game are.

Freeman had to go. He was Radio Raheem's guy, for the QB of an NFL team to act the way he has, there are some major problems...not even counting his play on the field. On the field his completion percentage is below 50%. The telling thing in the whole Freeman mess is none of his teammates have said much to defend or stick up for him...especially the WRs on the team.

Bills and Browns in dire need of a QB due to injuries. If Freeman isnt picked up it speaks volumes and tells me there may be off the field issues here.

i'd take the high road and release his confidential drug testing results.

there are no hero's in this story. there's just infantile behavior on a scale rarely seen outside the politics forum at p.a.

you have to wonder where the adults are on both sides.

Oh he'll get picked up. Some team will be intrigued and think they can get him to produce. The Raiders are a likely landing spot for him since he would be reunited with Greg Olson. Maybe the Vikes too

i'd stick with weeden over freeman if i were the browns. I can't imagine they would think differently.

he'll be signed this week. off field issues and all. be patient.

I would also stick with Weeden but i would think Freeman as a backup would give you a chance to win more than who is backing up Weeden at this point. Dont forget he is fresh off the injury list.

Now we just need to struggle the rest of the season, hopefully go 0-16 (unless the Giants find a way of duplicating that effort too) And start all over again, presumably without Schiano or Dominik.

Well, that is certainly one side of the story. I wonder if Roy Cummings even bothered to speak with Freeman - my suspicions are no.

Though in all fairness, Freeman was done with the local media 3 weeks ago and most likely never responded to his request for an interview.

and i was shocked to see oak beat san diego last night. just never know what's going to happen i guess.

From what I can surmise, they thought David Wilson could step up and fill Andre Brown's role as the #1 RB. And they clearly thought wrong. They have no running game (whenever you are working out Willis Mcgahee, you got it bad) and thus Eli is pressured all game. The DEF is worn out by halftime.

I'm sure there are some Gints fan that can elaborate.


It is already a forgettable season in so many ways. I'm (obviously) a Skins fan, the wife is a Steelers fan, and we are both Buccaneers fans.

Collectively our teams are 1-11. The stars aligned for us and all three teams mercifully were on a bye this weekend. First pleasant Sunday since Labor day weekend ;)

Injuries have comprimised the offensive line. That's the biggest problem the offense faces. There are no lanes for the RB's also Eli has to run for his life on many plays. That being said, he has used some poor judgement on some of his passes this year. Unfortunatley thats more of a by-product of them trying to crawl out of large holes every game and just make something happen.

Defensively they get very little pressure on QB's. Justin Tuck and JPP just look slow/injured at times. They also have maybe the worst LB corb in the history of the NFL. Opposing QB's have all day to throw against a injury plagued secondary that was at best, was medicore when fully healthy.

Special Teams has been pretty woeful also this season. Missing FG's, giving up PR touchdowns and Weatherford struggling while punting hasn't helped things.

There hasn't been one aspect where they have been solid, so far this season.

And yet they are still alive in that division if you look at it.

I bought into that this past week, but now I would say that the water is offically too deep and they are done.

0-5 is 0-5, can't spin it any other way. They are just not good (and that's putting it nicely).

But not done.

coming into the weekend, the nfc east was a combined 4 and 12. skins had a bye, so no loss there. dallas lost, philly beat ny.
so, now 5 and 14. used to be a powerhouse division....when ny won the division a couple years ago, it was the first time ever that an 8 and 8 team won it. now, they did go on to win the superbowl, but they were far from a good team that regular season.
skins play dallas next weekend. if they manage to win, the skins would be in a tie for the division lead. what a mess.

The year to go 0-fer is next year, imo, and grab Winston from FSU with the top pick. Luck was more "NFL ready", but man o man can this Winston kid play!

that is just awful, that poor little boy. i just don't understand how people can become so enraged as to do things like that. poor, poor baby.

Hopefully AP will let the legal system handle this and not do what needs to be done himself.
