Greg Schiano's NFL career's death watch thread
He's got to go. Period. He's made a laughing stock of the city and a joke of the franchise.
Unfortunately, most of us saw this coming straight down Dale Mabry Blvd. 2 years ago: http://www.derbytrail.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45357 this team has enough raw talent to be competitive in the division, now I'm not certain that they will even beat Jacksonville. What a god-awful mess. |
Can't take credit for this as I saw someone post it on twitter.
Revis thought he was leaving the circus when he got traded away from the Jets. |

>>>In speaking with agents of several Bucs players recently, I have sensed a common theme: There is an atmosphere of fear and distrust under the current regime in Tampa. Players have told their agents about coaches roaming through the locker room (typically the players' sanctuary away from coaches) and staff videotaping players on the sidelines during losses to single out players laughing or horsing around.<<< http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2013/10/...s-josh-freeman This kind of stuff is coming out daily, and with another week and a half to go, its likely to boil over at some point. |
Wait you mean the Pros isn't like Rutgers?

The door just met Freeman's a$$.

They announced last week that "They anticipated 85% of the tickets will be sold for the balance of the season, so they lifted the local blackout rule". They are going to spend millions more buying up all the empty seats. There will be heads rolling. |

Perhaps he was anticipating the Pro's would be easier than Rutgers, cuz he did absolutely nothing there either. |
They called all 31 teams and no interest was there so they cut him.
There's always the CFL! |

Bring back Testaverde.

Freeman needed to go

the guy broke no laws. whatever character issues may be there i'm sure his new team will convince itself they can fix i have a hard time understanding why tampa handled this the way they did. they shot themselves in the head when it came to getting any value for freeman. very strange situation. |

The fact that someone in the organization leaked Freeman's voluntary cooperation in the substance abuse program (has a prescription for Adderall) is so far over the line it's hard to fathom.
The team is fuc1<ed. Owners trying to get the NFLPA to buy in on HgH testing, and this comes out? I would not be surprised if the team get fined HUGE. I'd to know what the odds on whether Schiano is the coach by the next game are. |
As a coach, what do you do given this scenario?

there are no hero's in this story. there's just infantile behavior on a scale rarely seen outside the politics forum at p.a. you have to wonder where the adults are on both sides. |

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/97...nesota-vikings Good Riddance. Now we just need to struggle the rest of the season, hopefully go 0-16 (unless the Giants find a way of duplicating that effort too) And start all over again, presumably without Schiano or Dominik. |

Though in all fairness, Freeman was done with the local media 3 weeks ago and most likely never responded to his request for an interview. |

and i was shocked to see oak beat san diego last night. just never know what's going to happen i guess. |

I'm sure there are some Gints fan that can elaborate. It is already a forgettable season in so many ways. I'm (obviously) a Skins fan, the wife is a Steelers fan, and we are both Buccaneers fans. Collectively our teams are 1-11. The stars aligned for us and all three teams mercifully were on a bye this weekend. First pleasant Sunday since Labor day weekend ;) |

Defensively they get very little pressure on QB's. Justin Tuck and JPP just look slow/injured at times. They also have maybe the worst LB corb in the history of the NFL. Opposing QB's have all day to throw against a injury plagued secondary that was at best, was medicore when fully healthy. Special Teams has been pretty woeful also this season. Missing FG's, giving up PR touchdowns and Weatherford struggling while punting hasn't helped things. There hasn't been one aspect where they have been solid, so far this season. |
And yet they are still alive in that division if you look at it.

0-5 is 0-5, can't spin it any other way. They are just not good (and that's putting it nicely). |

so, now 5 and 14. used to be a powerhouse division....when ny won the division a couple years ago, it was the first time ever that an 8 and 8 team won it. now, they did go on to win the superbowl, but they were far from a good team that regular season. skins play dallas next weekend. if they manage to win, the skins would be in a tie for the division lead. what a mess. |

Matt Cassel gets the nod over Freeman to start this weekend for the Vikes:
