Arc Coverage

I’ve been trying to search and figure out who does the broadcasts for the Arc, who are these two guys that commentate and then race call? Are they the "track commentator?"

Slewbopper 10-01-2006 09:01 AM

The 5th to 8th (Arc 7th) at Longchamps will be on TVG starting right now.

Also Youbet.com is taking wagers

Travis Stone 10-01-2006 09:05 AM

Yea I'm on TVG now but prior they were showing a feed via Longchamp... 2 guys hosting, just wondering if they are the "track announcers" there or how it works.

I think the whole thing is produced by French Gallop. You can probably find out more from their website ( which is in French and English ). Of course, finding information at French racetracks isn't exactly easy, I went to three tracks in Paris and the only one that even had a tote board was Saint Cloud....and it wasn't in use.

Travis Stone 10-01-2006 09:24 AM

I'm struggling to find the english version of their site... and I took french in high school. Where can I see the link?

Gander 10-01-2006 09:27 AM

These track announcers make Mike Battaglia look "decent".

blackthroatedwind 10-01-2006 09:32 AM

They obviously aren't the track announcers as they are calling in English. I would guess this feed is probably from England.

As for the French Gallop site...I'll take a look.

Since you're always a yutz I'm glad you were able to point out my egregious error.

Funny, though, Travis had no problem finding the site even with my massive stupidity. Nice of you to help him out even further...you pathetic weasel.

I can't find English on the site either. I know they have an Arc write-up somewhere in English but I guess there may well not be an English translation of the site. Sorry.

But, hey, at least now you know the correct spelling.

GPK 10-01-2006 10:48 AM

blackthroatedwind 10-01-2006 10:50 AM

Rail Link in a photo over Pride. Deep Impact was third.

Does everyone still think these Euro's are invincible against US horses?

Yes. The winner of the Prix De L'Opera would beat any of the supposed top US Turf horses.

GPK 10-01-2006 10:53 AM

I just need to know if Shirocco beat Hurricane Run
