Hey Euros, this is the best 3 yr old turf filly in the world.

ateamstupid 09-30-2006 04:29 PM

Yeah, that was some all-star field she beat. Dancing Edie, Live Life, Sohgol, that's right up there with Ouija Board, Alexandrova, Mandesha and Gorella.

randallscott35 09-30-2006 04:30 PM

Ateam, 3yr old turf filly. READ.

I'm not referring to that.

Scav 09-30-2006 04:31 PM

Lets calm down guys. There wasn't much in this race IMO and I am actually really happy she won the way she did because she will be an underlay BC day and I was tossing her, unless the field is crazy weak

DiscreetCat=Monster 09-30-2006 04:32 PM

I think they said that was the biggest winning margin of victory in the history of the yellow ribbon

Gander 09-30-2006 04:33 PM

She had a perfect trip so if we go by all the Tin Man naysayer's logic, she is just an average horse who got lucky. LOL! Shes really gooood.

Gander 09-30-2006 04:34 PM

It was a better field than she beat at Saratoga. Lady of Venice is a gerbil.

Blah blah blah. Same story. Any horse that doesn't come through for you when you bet it sucks.

Gander 09-30-2006 04:38 PM

Damn right! I listened to you and that gerbil cost me a bundle

I'm kidding, lighten up Francis.

DiscreetCat=Monster 09-30-2006 04:48 PM

Wait a While faster than the Tin Man

Tin Man 2.00.12

Wait a While 1.59.52

Sorry, I get emotional when it comes to her. She'll be back in a big way at KEE, mark my words.

randallscott35 09-30-2006 04:50 PM

That's 5 lengths faster.

Gander 09-30-2006 04:52 PM

I know she will Joey and I was only kidding you.
Hopefully I will see you next weekend.

I think it's more like 3 lengths. Each 1/5th of a second is about a length.

I'm a big fan of The Tin Man but I was not impressed with his race today at all. He didn't look like himself. Even when they passed the stands the first time, he wasn't travelling nearly as smoothly as he did in the Million. He's probably getting a little tired. It's been a long year for him. He went to Dubai and back and he also travelled to Chicago and back. And he is 8 years old.

I admire the horse's guts. He didn't have his "A" game and he still won. But off that race today, I don't give him much shot in the BC Turf.

randallscott35 09-30-2006 05:04 PM

Yes, rich, the message was edited, I thought it was a full second difference.

Yes but the point is, The Tin Man was all out and Wait a While was trotting home

ateamstupid 09-30-2006 05:05 PM

I don't think this race changes anything. His only shot in the BCT was to set a crawl and hope to outsprint the Euros, and that continues to be his only shot. Although I think it's gonna be mighty hard to go from nosing out T.H. Approval to beating some of the world's best grass horses.

Agree Ateam.
I haven't looked at the splits for the early parts of either race.
tin Man had a "crawl". Too bad nobody pushed him.
The times before the 3/4 pole will tell the story.

Nostradamus 09-30-2006 05:10 PM

And Showing Up was a second faster than the Tin Man in the Arlington Million, when the Tin Man beat Cacique. Cacique then beat Showing Up. Times mean nothing in turf racing.

Wait a While is not in the league with the Oujia Board, Alexandrova or Gorella.

There is no American turf horse that can compete with the top Europeans. Not one.

mclem10011 09-30-2006 05:13 PM

Performances.....

Tin Man had to work for it, was very game. Wait a While just crushed en, it was a terrific performance.

randallscott35 09-30-2006 05:14 PM

I'm not big on times either. My thoughts on Wait A While have nothing to do with times.

I didn't either till today, have you ever heard the fraise "A Chihuahua could whip a Pit Bull in his own enviroment?"

Nostradamus 09-30-2006 05:15 PM

She has beaten nothing. The top mares from Europe will toy with her. Maybe next year. People forget the top mares from europe have beaten horses like Hurricane Run.

She is going to be racing against horses that have beaten Hurricane Run. A horse like Pride is in the Arc tomorrow and a horse like Oujia Board can beat any horse in the world on the turf. Wait a While is similar to Showing Up. They both have beaten nobody when you are looking big picture.

He knows a hell of a lot more than me. But I learned my lesson about turf horses with Showing Up. My brother told me for months he was a good horse that was similar to an English Channel, but not a world class horse that could beat the Europeans.
