so i've heard that they have had a lot of rain and are expecting a soft course. so much that wesley ward isn't going at all. i wonder if there will be scratches from any of the major players............
|
Hope not!
* * * http://horses.sportinglife.com/SL_Fa...130850,00.html Pulling out my hair trying to figure out how to arrange Bated Breath, Ortensia, Little Bridge, Joy And Fun and Margot Did. As usual I'm playing Excelebration to beat Frankel although a, haven't had much luck in the past :D :wf and b, I do like Red Jazz as well. Can't wait! Hope the HK kids do well (some tough girls up against them though) and of course best of luck, Mr. Channon. :) How about you SS? Are you playing every race? Looking forward to / playing / rooting for anyone in particular? |
i'm just looking forward to seeing frankel and black caviar. i can't remember if frankel has run on a soft course. do you know if excelebration "excels" on a soft course? he will definitely need some kind of edge to have a chance to beat the beast.

Here are my very fine Royal Horsey Picks :)
2.25 Frankel 3.05 Ortensia ( I think Morty's Pick would be #19:D) 3.45 Power 4.25 Sir Prancelot (Like #7 too) 5.00 Simenon 5.35 Lyric Ace |
I'm looking forward to seeing Black Caviar and really hoping for a loss.

With 30 minutes to post, Frankel is 1/9 with more than 220,000 to win bet on him.
Freaken 11 horse field and ONLY win betting ? What a joke. |

It's not like she's been beating allowance type horses. I believe I will be but one of many that will be cheering her on this Saturday. Not only because of what she has already shown, but because we want to believe that she is as good or even better than we have so far seen. They at least put her on a plane and traveled 30 hours to prove it. No one can say her connections ever "ducked" the competition in order to remain unbeaten. Black Caviar is a truly exceptional race horse. To be able to look back one day and say "I remember when......", just as those do/did that were witness to previous greats of the past such as Secretariat, Phar Lap, Sea Bird, Ruffian, etc.,is going to be an awesome feeling. |
any link to free pps for this meet

Yeah Hay List is an average horse. I'm sure Black Caviar will be intimidated by the monsters she'll face this weekend.

I'm sorry but you know 1.we could substitute any HK runner (are they still not good enough?) and it would be just like old times and 2. that I want to smack you when you do this. :p Kingie since it's a given she will win the only thing that would make it even better is for Ortensia to run (I'm assuming she's not world class?) and be right behind her. (... and I really do think that if she runs Ortensia and Bated Breath will fill out the tri). (For anyone who wants to keep an eye on that...) http://www.paulmessara.com.au/ * * * Can't wait to see The Fugue tomorrow...I don't see anyone beating the top three in that race (Vow and Shirocco Star). Mick Channons runner in the Norfolk has Craig Williams up? Very nice! |
Far and away my favorite horse of the day is...............
...............Ceiling Kitty :D. |

I'm actually tired of people going on and on about aspects of this industry that they clearly know very little about. If you had any idea of the quality Australia posesses in it's sprinting ranks you wouldn't even think about making such a harsh comment. So, she gets bagged for beating the world's number one male sprinter a few times..... it's ridiculous. Hay List would defeat just about any other sprinter put in his way anywhere around the world, yet she can go past him like he's stood still and she's 'overrated'? Choisir, Takeover Target, Miss Andretti, Scenic Blast and Starspangledbanner - they all have two things in common. They're all Australian bred and trained (for the most part) sprinters and all won at Royal Ascot in either the Kings Stand or Golden Jubilee (Choisir won both). None of them (and I mean none of them) would even be in the same league as Black Caviar, none would even be able to get close enough to her to blow wind up her a$$........... now that's not me saying that, it's not even the connections of Black Caviar. The people who have said that are the owners and trainers of the horses I've just listed. Back in February in the Gr1 Lightning stakes she went under 10 seconds for two consecutive furlongs with a final time of 55.5 seconds over 5 furlongs, this was just seven days after having her first ever start over 7 furlongs! Last year she won the Gr1 Newmarket, which is weighted as a handicap. She carried more weight than any other filly had in this race. The horse who filled the 2nd, 3rd and 4th placings were all group one winners and she gave them all at least 5.5kgs! Crystal Lily who ran 2nd was the Golden Slipper winner from the year before and the great mare gave her a massive 8kgs, and she still won with her head in her chest. It's been proven year after year that Australia breeds the best sprinters in the world, whether they race in Australia or Asia, hence the success they have had in the international sprints over the past ten years. Don't for one minute think the racing there is "limited". You are very much mistaken. |

They don't play over there, I tried to bet the first race-my phone said exactly 8:25 and they were gone. I would have lost however.

Wow. That's the best performance I've seen by a 2yo filly in a while.

Yeah the jock was a little overwhelmed judging by the close-up slo-mo. And rightfully so. Monster.
