One of the Paragallo rescues gets to the track
http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/20/sp...r=1&ref=sports
Nice heartwarming story. With all the things that went wrong, I still can't believe one of the three rescues is actually going to start. Angelika and Sean wouldn't give up. Looking forward to seeing the race Sunday. I don't care if she runs dead last; the fact that they got a horse left to starve to the races at all is a victory. |
That is a really nice story. Thanks for putting it here -- I don't visit the NYT website that much and would've missed it. Will definitely watch to see her run.

positive NY times coverage
This is a great story about our (I am a minor partner) horse, this is really something and I thought I would share. Please consider rooting for our filly Sunday!

I am a partner in 5R and never imagined we would get here. Sunday will be something special.

I'm rooting for everyone involved!
Just the fact that this filly made into the starting gate is just a tremendous story, Angelika and Sean have been steadfast. I'll be watching and cheering for Notinrwildestdremz from home, wish I could be there. Have fun and Good Luck!!! |

Well, with any luck, it won't be her only race, so there's always the next one for in-person spectating. |

Here's a video 5R put together of "Dremz." The beginning includes a few snapshots of her as a yearling, so you can see how far she had to come.

That video was great - and I had to watch all her others, too! Thanks! What a great story.
She's a little pistol of slightly stubborn opinion, isn't she - sure has her own mind! :D Good luck tomorrow and safe trip! |
Tough luck today:(
|
Bless her heart. I don't even like walking in the mud, never mind running. I don't blame her one bit.
I was looking at pictures of Notinrwildestdremz' first day on the track. She's cute as a button. How tall is she? |
Eh, that's racing. Clearly Clip-Clop is supposed to be at her first race. :)
Next time at Belmont. And hopefully on a dry track! |
"Dremz" gives it another go in the 6th race at Belmont tomorrow (turf race that has been moved to the main track). Send good thoughts for a good, safe trip.
CBS This Morning filmed her two weeks ago, and will be there tomorrow. Here's hoping she actually makes it out of the gate this time! |
Whahoo, thanks for the update - will be cheering her on. Hey, she's already a 'winner', this is just for fun, right?

Great update on Notinrwildestdremz aka "Annie." She's looking really good and has a pretty awesome new gig. |
That' s awesome :)

Congrats to Angelika and Sean's 5R Racehorse Stables, who had their (I think) first winner today with Ave Vox in the 3rd at Laurel! The Paragallo rescues have been retired/started on new careers, but the racing stable goes on.
