I guess Baffert wants a free trip to Dubai. He can't possibly think he is winning that race.

Also, the race isn't on 3/2 Steve...just sayin...

Very nice card for SA. The 3 stakes races as the last 3 races on the card should make for a very very tough Pick 4.

Cards great and Ill play the all stakes pick 3, but I thought the Stakes look chalky. Unless you think Ron The Greek is drifting up.

What a lousy collection of horses by Big Cap standards. Setsuko finally got through his entry level alw condition last-out and he's a clear cut 2nd choice.

The Morning line favorite for the Big Cap is coming off a blowout win -- but his figure was weaker than ones turned in by about 5 different 3-year-olds in two turn routes at SA this meet.

Good betting race on paper -- but this is more like the Big Crap than the Big Cap.

Your right. Its a bunch of trash. I was hoping Game On Dude ran so I could bet against the GOAT. It would have added more speed. I dont really see how Ron The Greek can lose. Hes pretty close to a lock IMO. The sad thing is if he does lose its going to be Setsuko who might have finally turned the corner.

Where's Jaycito? Baffert drills him every week for 3 months, runs a decent 2nd in the Strub then goes into hiding again.

motts horse will run well..

Your right. Only one grade 1 winner (turf) and three grade 2 winners. Out of a total of 161 combined races by the field the beyer century mark has been only met 4 times...ughhh

Thank you. I was starting to wonder if it was me.

Of course I mean no disrespect to any of them or their connections, etc., but whoa... where's Miss Peggy Lee? Is that all there is?

I'm sorry but I am so disappointed. I keep thinking of Rock Hard Ten and Congrats coming in one, two (just like the picture of them a couple of days before!) and Saint Liam, Island Fashion, Truly a Judge, Borrego...

Disappointerd - and it doesn't usually take much to make me happy.

This is as good as any :)

I think I may take a stab with Holladay Road just for the heck of it.

Before I respond to that, I saw your FB post and Im sorry about your family. They will be in my prayers this weekend.
As for Ron, I love him.... But so DOES EVERYONE ELSE. I might get off. When its crazy obvious like this, it usually does not pan out. That entire Stakes pick 3 looks totally chalky. I mean maybe the stretch out sprinter wires the turf race at 4-1 morning line? Maybe the 2 chalks hook up in the 3yr old filly race and it collapses??? I doubt it, but its possible. Goodluck today VJ.

Fair is fair...even though he doesn't deserve me being fair, PG was right about Ron the Greek. Good call.

From me, too, VolJack! Of course, at 1962nd place, I am really breathing down your neck...

Probably safe to assume he did get off him as he said he might.

He does keep answering the bell after all the abuse. I guess there is something to say for that.

my miss storm cat 03-03-2012 09:41 PM

Cheers to everyone who had Ron the Greek.

God, I was thinking of Rock Hard Ten (the person, not the fine horsie) during the latter part of the race... once I knew Gladding was done.

As far as capping, today was just awful for me but that's getting to be a way of life. :wf :D

Is PFR alright?

VOL JACK 03-04-2012 12:27 AM

Thanks, I really don't know what I am doing in that contest.
I wasn't crazy about the restricted group of horses there was to pick from.

I lucked up with the News Pending pick, I thought he would win one of the KY Poly derby preps. It wasn't that I thought he'd run 2nd in the FoY.
I have been a big fan of his since I saw him work at FT Tim last May.
I needed him to break his maiden in his 2nd career start at 12:1 to win a NHC contest at KY Downs. That didn't work out but, I knew he would turn out to be a nice one.

tywizard 03-04-2012 07:32 AM

I'm changing the way I play multi race wagers. I will now include all D O'neil horses. He seems to always deliver at a price. Anyone else agree?

I'm trying to get my boyfriend interested in horse racing and so I had him make a stable. He took News Pending too and is now totally kicking my butt and in the top 100. :D

My husband's wagering theory is limited to, "Pick the horse whose name sounds most like a super villain." Which worked out very well for him in the 2006 Blue Grass.

I wish I'd nagged him to do a stable, too- it would have been fun to see who he picked, using his theory.

Did Joel Rosario comprimise his horse Gladding to destroy Ultimate Eagle chances? Is there bad blood between Rosario and Pedroza? It kind of continued today during the 7th race where they each were muscling with each other down the stretch on the rail.

Kurt Hoover, on HRTV, mentioned that those two riders got into it after the race...and even the two trainers (Cerin and someone else) got into it.

Earlier in the meet - Rosario came out into the path of Pedroza and dropped him. You can see it at 1:15 in...

Rosario's ride on Gladding (taking it to UE on the front end) in the Big Cap made no sense at all. Pedroza is supposed to be a tough old guy. Maybe a fued will come of this, I don't know.

helicopter11 03-04-2012 10:50 PM

Did not hear about the trainer incident but interesting events for sure. They went super fast in the Big Cap going :22.2,
:44.4 1:09, 1:34. Rosario knows better than that to hook up that fast which tells me he pulled a Jerry Bailey - Smarty Jones routine.

I did read in the DRF a couple of days before the race, Sadler saying they made a mistake with Gladding in last years race and tried to take him back.
He said they were going to let him do his thing this time.

What I find interesting is after the horse goes down Rosario doesn't even look back.

Makes me sick to read this. I didn't take my own advice and it cost me dearly.
