good work joey

I always enjoy the hoops blogs. Thanks Joey.
Do you think South Florida is a lock for the NIT (based on their current record and similar projection) or do they need to do more? |

I'd rather they got in the NIT and were able to make a bit of a run to gain some tournament experience, than to make the BD and end up a one and done. |
|
No CU or CSU? I was thinking both look like they will be in.

Sorry, I skimmed right past the CSU bit. Hoping to see both make it in, always makes things fun around here when people have someone to root for.
Nice work on this, very enjoyable to read. |
Great research! Very informative.

I support Coach Grant but hope Tony Mitchell and Jamychal Green are truly done and not allowed back. They are both real dumb yet talented. You can't fix stupid so let them begin their lives of crime like respectable wannabe thugs.

I don't see the point in bringing Green back. Sure he'll help if his head's on straight but he's a senior that has had nothing but attitude problems since he's been on campus. Time for him to go.
|
They're on the bubble, Grant is likely under pressure to make the Tournament and Green has been their most important player this season. I don't know enough about the circumstances to say for sure, but my guess is it's not entirely Grant's decision.
|
From what I've read Grant is highly respected by the administration from top to bottom. There are a few fans who are disgruntled but they wouldn't be happy if Bama was #1.
|
No love for the CAA? Drexel, Mason, and VCU are all good teams this year...

there are a couple knuckleheads on this team that he's lost and i won't be surprised if he makes every effort at seasons end to make them move on. if he can get Bama in the dance every other year, i think the fans will take it. |

I've watched eight or nine games now this season ... the most impressive team I've seen is certainly Marquette.
The Lennox Lewis looking dude can really play. They impressed me more than NC, Kentucky (I saw them play Vandy on the road) and Kansas did. Vandy would have easily beat Kentucky if they settled for outside shots instead of trying to will it inside where that friggen beast that was blocking and rebounding everything was. |

Not a college hoops maven, and won't be betting, but I think Florida is a sure bet-against in the first round. Gators are "rounding out of form."

Kentucky is significantly better than anyone else in the country. |

Boy is the Pac-12 pitiful. Watch Arizona win the Pac-12 tourney....

I said Marquette was the best team I've seen...but I also watched them play Louisville and the pressure D by Louisville made Marquette turn the ball over like crazy and they rushed up a lot of high percentage shots that didn't go. It's weird because Marquette isn't a very big team and you think they'd handle a press D...but they couldn't. I LOVE Marquette against any team that lets them control the pace when they have the ball on offense. They fucl<ed up over and over against pressure. I love the way Marquette plays defense. They are relentless. Detroit Titans are the small school that impressed me most. They freaking wiped the floor with Valpo in Valpo ... and Valpo was 3-0 against Butler this year. |

I really like Montana over Wisconsin. I follow Big Sky basketball probably way too close but I live out here and go to lots of games locally. Montana is one of the best Big Sky teams I've seen in awhile. Main issue is no depth at all. Pretty much go with 5 guys, but play really good defense, and can really, really shoot the 3. 4 of 5 starters over 43 percent and worst is at 37 percent, Will Cherry, who is by far the best player and a really good point guard. Destroyed Weber State last two times and their great future NBA guard Damian Lillard. HIstorically Big Sky not likely to win a game. Montana won a first rounder over Nevada a few years ago and WEber in the late 90s beat Georgetown so historically a pretty lame first round pick, but I think this team is different.

I've only seen both Detroit and Kansas play once ... but Detroit might have a better back-court. If they don't get killed inside by the ChokeHawks, they'll certainly keep the margin single digits. |
