I thought Brother Francis was going to the Bob Lewis (?)....
Interesting field for the Arcadia! I had no idea Pathfork was here (need to see pp's but as far as I can remember he only had one race last year) and haven't seen the name Dewey's Special in forever. I like the idea of M One on the grass (!). Poor Masone never wins. If Mr. Commons has an off day I suppose El Gato Malo could conceivably win. I said could. |
Morning Line for Strub Stakes
1 - Jaycito (4-1) 2 - Prayer for Relief (7-2) 3 - Beer Meister (20-1) 4 - Ultimate Eagle (9-2) 5 - Clubhouse Ride (12-1) 6 - Indian Winter (15-1) 7 - Tapizar (6-5) 8 - Balladry (8-1) Morning Line for Robert B. Lewis Stakes 1 - Isn't He Clever (6-1) 2 - Liaison (9-5) 3 - Groovin' Solo (12-1) 4 - I'll Have Another (12-1) 5 - Sky Kingdom (6-1) 6 - Rousing Sermon (5-2) 7 - Empire Way (6-1) 8 - Chips All In (6-1) Morning Line for Arcadia Stakes 1 - Dewey's Special (8-1) 2 - Pathfork (5-2) 3 - M One Rifle (10-1) 4 - Calimonco (6-1) 5 - El Gato Malo (12-1) 6 - Willyconker (8-1) 7 - Massone (20-1) 8 - Mr. Commons (Even) |
Prayer for Relief might be the rabbit for Bob Baffert to hook with Tapizar early to set it up for Jaycito
|
El Gato Malo is cross entered for the San Antonio...
I seriously hope they keep him here. I like Balladry in the Strub and am looking at Chips All In who I believe has a shot anyway... |

Tapizar must be pretty overrated to be 6-5ML in that spot. What about the turf speed pushing him early? I dont like his chances today. Ill stick with the 2 Bafferts, its nice having the goat 2x and neither is chalk.
|
I mean, really? How stupid do these jocks have to be? How many times do they have to give Ultimate Eagle a loose lead before they realize he doesn't quit?

I thought it was worth mentioning that Tres Borrachoes is scratched from the San Antonio...
|
I guess Tapizar answered the question if he could be rated or not. That was ugly.

Yeah, it kind of goes back to something I saw the Mig say on the National Racing Report after his last race. Something to the effect of, with a horse like him, you're better off just letting him roll early because it's what he wants to do. When you try to take that away from a horse like him, they lose interest.
Obviously I overrated him and the winner ran a hole in the wind. But I would love to Tapizar just given his head in the future and let him do what he does best. |

Tapizar has only passed one horse in his life. The Eagle gets no respect and was the better horse. FYI I played three horses in that race and not the Eagle and it cost me 10K I have come to the conclusion that it didnt matter what kind of ride Tapizar received he wasnt beating the Eagle.

some thought Tapizar lost because of the ride he was given. I dont agree. kudos to those who saw Tapizars weakness before the race and played the Eagle. I wasnt that one of them.

Does Oaklawn still tend to favor speed horses? If he's still in one piece, Tapizar needs to relocate for the Razorback and Oaklawn Handicap. Maybe he'll have an outside shot of making the Whitney from there.
|
Tapizar stinks. I said that before the race. He is good for one thing, hes fast early. Now if he goes early, like he always does until yesterday I think Jaycito wins or makes it much closer. Tapizar was leaning on him, keeping him inside. If Jaycito is sitting that pocket dream trip off of 2 speeds its a much different race. Just to be clear, Jaycito is not much horse either.
|
Game On Dude getting better with age? I know he beat nothing, but hes been a plodder/grinder. Everything is close, that was a strong effort despite the bad ride.

Whenever you're wrong, you disappear for days. You NEVER own anything. However, I did in fact own my opinion and conceded I have overrated him. You should try it sometime. |

You like to take your little shots and then you act like a sissy when I respond. When you take a shot, I'm going to tell you what an idiot you are. Look at it this way. No one else responds to you, so I'm actually giving you the much needed attention you need. You should be thanking me. |

Tapizar sucks. Go back through the thread, before the race and after I never said a word about you. You thinking Im throwing any jabs your way tells me your paranoid though. Just relax. Watch my Pats roll. |

How about you? What are you enjoying tonight? |

No wonder Brady's wife wanted everyone to pray for him. It all makes sense now. |

The connections should keep him at 7F-1 1/16m and quit trying him longer. And my preference would be mile at most.
