Surprised to see isn't he clever here. Should be interesting to see how much action he gets, being that he has the highest beyer in the field, but it was sprinting at Sunland.

I thought Brother Francis was going to the Bob Lewis (?)....

Interesting field for the Arcadia!

I had no idea Pathfork was here (need to see pp's but as far as I can remember he only had one race last year) and haven't seen the name Dewey's Special in forever.

I like the idea of M One on the grass (!).

Poor Masone never wins.

If Mr. Commons has an off day I suppose El Gato Malo could conceivably win.

I said could.

Prayer for Relief might be the rabbit for Bob Baffert to hook with Tapizar early to set it up for Jaycito

my miss storm cat 02-03-2012 05:57 PM

El Gato Malo is cross entered for the San Antonio...

I seriously hope they keep him here.

I like Balladry in the Strub and am looking at Chips All In who I believe has a shot anyway...

Prayer for Relief would need a jet pack to be able to run with Tapizar early.

With 2 Baffert/Zayat horses you would think one would be the rabbit. Looks to me PFR will be on a suicide mission.

Might be the other way around. Jaycito had speed in a couple of starts as a juvenile. He's fresh and has a sharp 1/2 mile work leading into this. He's also been a disappointment, been training with the second string, and is coming off throat surgery. Seems expendable, especially in this situation (entering a Grade 2 route off a 6 month break).

I agree with Jaycito probably being the rabbit, but I like Balladry to catch them.

RockHardTen1985 02-04-2012 08:53 AM

Tapizar must be pretty overrated to be 6-5ML in that spot. What about the turf speed pushing him early? I dont like his chances today. Ill stick with the 2 Bafferts, its nice having the goat 2x and neither is chalk.

GPK 02-04-2012 06:28 PM

I mean, really? How stupid do these jocks have to be? How many times do they have to give Ultimate Eagle a loose lead before they realize he doesn't quit?

They must have read all the bs in the form that Pender said Ultimate Eagle would be coming from 10 lengths back...lol

He won that race as soon as Nakatani tried to rate on the backstretch after not getting the lead.

Yep. As soon as Nak pulled back, I walked away from the computer before I did my best DrugS computer demolition imitation.

my miss storm cat 02-04-2012 07:36 PM

I thought it was worth mentioning that Tres Borrachoes is scratched from the San Antonio...

Dahoss 02-05-2012 09:22 AM

I guess Tapizar answered the question if he could be rated or not. That was ugly.

I'm not sure if you can give an honest assesment off that race yesterday. It's not like they tried to rate from the beginning. Nakatani went for the lead for the first half, when he didn't get it, then he went to plan B which turned out to be a disaster. Once he let up off the gas, it was the begining of the end for everyone involved. I just thought he was commited to the front/lead when he decided to pull back and try to rate.

Dahoss 02-05-2012 09:40 AM

Yeah, it kind of goes back to something I saw the Mig say on the National Racing Report after his last race. Something to the effect of, with a horse like him, you're better off just letting him roll early because it's what he wants to do. When you try to take that away from a horse like him, they lose interest.

Obviously I overrated him and the winner ran a hole in the wind. But I would love to Tapizar just given his head in the future and let him do what he does best.

Yeah, That race kept me up for a while last night. I certainly gave the winner a long look, but never figured he would end up by himself out there. I used the 8 instead thinking that the race might melt down, but then Nak rates and the rest is history. More importantly my $22 horse in the first leg ends up being a colossal waste.

mnmark 02-05-2012 10:19 AM

Tapizar has only passed one horse in his life. The Eagle gets no respect and was the better horse. FYI I played three horses in that race and not the Eagle and it cost me 10K I have come to the conclusion that it didnt matter what kind of ride Tapizar received he wasnt beating the Eagle.

Who said he was beating him?

mnmark 02-05-2012 01:23 PM

some thought Tapizar lost because of the ride he was given. I dont agree. kudos to those who saw Tapizars weakness before the race and played the Eagle. I wasnt that one of them.

No, some thought he was given a ride that didn't enable him to run his best race. Considering the way the winner ran it probably wouldn't have mattered anyway.

RolloTomasi 02-05-2012 02:46 PM

Does Oaklawn still tend to favor speed horses? If he's still in one piece, Tapizar needs to relocate for the Razorback and Oaklawn Handicap. Maybe he'll have an outside shot of making the Whitney from there.

RockHardTen1985 02-05-2012 04:14 PM

Tapizar stinks. I said that before the race. He is good for one thing, hes fast early. Now if he goes early, like he always does until yesterday I think Jaycito wins or makes it much closer. Tapizar was leaning on him, keeping him inside. If Jaycito is sitting that pocket dream trip off of 2 speeds its a much different race. Just to be clear, Jaycito is not much horse either.

RockHardTen1985 02-05-2012 04:22 PM

Game On Dude getting better with age? I know he beat nothing, but hes been a plodder/grinder. Everything is close, that was a strong effort despite the bad ride.

Oh the irony. You telling someone to own an opinion.

Whenever you're wrong, you disappear for days. You NEVER own anything.

However, I did in fact own my opinion and conceded I have overrated him. You should try it sometime.

I do. I disappear when you, and only you troll. I own it by trying to end it with you, and leaving and ignoring the ignorance. Again I wanna talk about horses a little, so if you want to Im here watching the game and ready. What did you think of Game on Dude?

You're steeped in ignorance. Everything about you is ignorant so let's just cut the crap now.

You like to take your little shots and then you act like a sissy when I respond. When you take a shot, I'm going to tell you what an idiot you are.

Look at it this way. No one else responds to you, so I'm actually giving you the much needed attention you need. You should be thanking me.

Tapizar sucks. Go back through the thread, before the race and after I never said a word about you. You thinking Im throwing any jabs your way tells me your paranoid though. Just relax. Watch my Pats roll.

That nimrod bet the Pats?

No wonder Brady's wife wanted everyone to pray for him. It all makes sense now.

Nimrod is nicer then some of the names you have called me in the past.

gamblin4ever 02-05-2012 06:40 PM

The connections should keep him at 7F-1 1/16m and quit trying him longer. And my preference would be mile at most.
