Westminster Dog Show 2012 -- LIVE FEED/BREED JUDGING

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=H-UIaiPxCIs

If she can run as smooth as she did 7:56-8:00, she will do better than 4th, or 5th in that Toy Group. Since the last Westminster Dog Show, she's won Best In Show at 25 dog shows. Won 4 in January.

For anyone interested, it starts tonight on tv 8-11 instead of Monday.

My mistake. Starts tomorrow. I need to stop drinking on the weekends.

Xoloitzcuintli

One of 9 new breeds being introduced this year.

Xoloitzcuintli. Pronounced "show-low-eats-QUEEN-tlee."

I somehow doubt this one will ever win Best in Show :D

From an ugly story comes a beautiful, compelling one.

Tremendous.
:tro:

I will follow the WKC show, but my breed never wins. Not that I care. I find conformation to be too political for my taste. I prefer obedience, agility and hunt tests.

SCUDSBROTHER 02-13-2012 08:42 PM

Min Pin gets 3rd in the Toy Group. That will give her handler encouragement going into next year. Hopefully, that Pekingese will die, or retire. She's 1 1/2 -2 1/2 years younger than those two. She will keep coming for their spot.

Arletta 02-13-2012 09:33 PM

Dang it! I forgot

I'm rooting for the australian cattle dog even though he was more interested in nabbing every piece of bait on the floor than showing well.:tro:

Never.

I was really pleased to see the Dal win group, and especially happy to see the GSD win his! I wouldn't mind seeing one of them take BIS.

Will have to DVR this evening's show and watch it on delay later tonight. Sporting and Working are more my thang.

Rooting for this one:)

"There's also a black cocker spaniel who was the No. 1 show dog last year — he's named Beckham, maybe a good omen since a 12-story ad featuring soccer star David Beckham posing in his underwear is painted on a building that overlooks the Garden.
Beckham the dog, by the way, beat out Malachy as the country's top-winning show dog in 2011."

Rileyoriley 02-14-2012 11:27 AM

Rooting for the Alaskan Malamute tonight.:)

Rileyoriley 02-14-2012 09:48 PM

I see the Malamute got 3rd in the working group.:tro:

Also happy to catch the end of the terrier group and see the Am Staff, Maddie, got 4th. She's a real sweetheart!:)

As usual an outstanding final group... Love that the pekingese won it.. He's just too adorable! :)

Really thought the Dalmatian was going to get first place though.

Thank you,Jesus. She picked that Hedge Hog (Peckingese) as BIS. We are rid of that thing. They will retire that it..... Classie, The Min Pin Bitch now moves up to the 2nd best Toy in the country. That Affenpisser is almost 5. She ain't even 3 yet.

I confess: I laughed.

I had hopes - albeit small ones - that the GSD or the Dobi would win. But when the commentator repeatedly stated how many BIS's the Pekingese had won previously, an inner voice told me that that was all I needed to know.
:wf It's so political.

That is the ugliest dog I've ever seen in my life.

And Scuds is the Jerry Sandusky of the dog world. I'd take 2/1 that he would hump that.

They have been teasing that Dobe, she will win it next year. Gotta pay your dues.

yuck

Arletta 02-15-2012 07:06 PM

Whatever.. He looked cute waddling on the carpet.

There were a lot more dogs there that were uglier that's for sure.

lol
have never been a fan of the pekingese...or other 'frou frou' dogs as i call them. and yes, there were other less than attractive dogs-but we're talking about the supposed best in show, right? and along those lines, there were certainly dogs there that were far more attractive. as well as useful!
i thought the fox terrier was a fabulous looking dog. but i'm always more inclined to favor the german shepherds, retrievers, some of the hounds, the terriers..i thought the malamute was beautiful, the weimeraner as well.

komondors, pulis, afghan hounds, poodles, you guys can have them! yuck

pekes aren't dogs, they're clumps of fur with two bulging eyes. looks like something i dumped out of the vacuum dirt cup.

Arletta 02-15-2012 08:58 PM

I hear ya... However, there was a reason it won 114 previous shows.

Perhaps lots of politics involved for his reason of winning.

Who knows, who cares... I can't wait for next years! :D

in an evolutionary sense this animal is all in on civilization. it lasts precisely one generation absent human vanity.

we seem to have an urge to build freaks in our companion species.

i don't blame the dog but it's a meal not a sex partner once you remove human influence.
